By the time your second or third (or fourth) baby rolls around, you’ve probably had your fair share of trying all the new gadgets and tools that you used for your first and already know what works for your family. However, if you’re anything like me, there may still be a couple items that you still have your eye on for this next baby.
Deciding on what to buy for the second (or third) baby has its own set of challenges. You have to inventory what products and toys you still have that are worth keeping or whether they need to be replaced or even chucked without repurchasing. Inevitably there were things you just had to have, but now don’t make sense for the next baby, or didn’t work as well as you thought they would. Or you might just want the latest version of a favorite item for the next baby.
Whatever the case is, we’ve got you covered with this list of items that many been-there-done-that parents of multiple kids swear by — even after the first child is grown!

Gender Reveal Game
Some of us didn’t have the pleasure of doing a gender reveal for our first babies, so why not join in on the fun for the second or third! This is a great way to get your extended family and older kiddos involved early on to join in on the excitement of expanding your family. This gender reveal game makes it easy to play and allows you to create your own game that you know your people will love.
Fridababy NoseFrida the Snot Sucker
Sucking out snot at 3 a.m. is probably not your favorite pastime, so do yourself a favor and make it easy on yourself — this is definitely one of those items you’ll need. Once you get over the idea of how the mucus comes out, you’ll be so glad you have one of these tools at your disposal.
7AM Car Seat Cocoon
Taking the new baby on the go comes with multiple challenges when you have a toddler or older child — weather included. Take one less worry off your mind by keeping your baby warm with this easy to throw on car seat cocoon. This cover is weather-resistant, so it can withstand the elements and allow you to tend to your other kiddo when needed.
Fisher-Price On-the-Go Baby Dome
While you may have stayed home for the better part of the first baby’s first year, it’s hard to keep still for the second and third baby. Using a transportable pack and play that includes a sun shade is perfect for allowing the baby to join in on the outside fun.
Graco SlimFit3 LX 3-in-1 Car Seat
A new baby means you have the joys of researching all of the baby car seat recommendations all over again. This Graco model boasts a slim fit, which means your kids will have room to sit next to each other in the car due to the slim model. This seat can convert from rear- to front-facing, meeting all the necessary requirements. It will even work as a booster when the time comes.
Uppababy Cruz V2 Piggyback Board
For those who already love their current UppaBaby Cruz stroller, consider the ride-a-long board. This attachment makes your single stroller an easy ride for your older kiddo to hitch if they’re tired of walking but too much of a big kid to sit in a double stroller. This board folds with the stroller even when attached and can be lifted out of the way when not used.
