There are so many ways we're told what not to wear.
Jerk trolls comment on our outfit selfies; magazines show trends on ONE body type; and a lot of the "cool clothes" in mainstream fashion simply aren't made in bigger sizes. Which is why I'd never even thought to wear culottes until recently.
The voluminous, skirt-style crop pants get a bad rap for being unflattering and fuddy-duddy. But that's a lie: it's all about finding the right fit for your body. I found these amazing Forever21 culottes that fit like a glove. I honestly can't stop wearing them.
NEW YORK DATE NIGHT: As a New Yorker, I couldn't resist an all-black look.

Blazer, H&M; crop-top, Rebdolls; culottes, Forever21; shoes, Rainbow; clutch, Rainbow
For those in-between spring/summer nights, I draped an H&M blazer over my shoulders.

The cage design of this Rebdolls crop-top adds subtle sexiness.

STREET STYLE: This is by far my favorite look. It's so comfortable!

Sheer crop top, Liesl Binx; white crop top, Rebdolls; sneakers, Adidas, clutch, H&M; sunnies, street vendor
The houndstooth sunnies and snake print clutch totally make the look.

The sneakers take me into normcore territory.

CASUAL: The black culottes work with anything. I added this striped top to keep it casual.

Top, Rebdolls; flats, purse,H&M
Texture is always a good idea. These Ray-Ban wayfarers are lined with actual denim.

I love a small crossbody bag! The neutral color and chain add contrast.
