Candace Cameron Bure Hits Back After Finding Herself at the Center of a Fast Food Scandal

Another day, another celebrity who is defending herself after comments she made have gone viral. The latest example involves Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure who recently responded to the online chatter that sparked after posting a strange rant to social media.

It all started with a random message Candace shared to Instagram.

On May 16, Candace posted a text-only Instagram Stories rant claiming she’s not eaten fast food in 20 years.

"I haven't eaten fast food except for In N Out in 20 years," the former Hallmark movie star wrote.

"Some days I wonder what a burger and fries from McDonald's or Burger King or Wendy's or any of those other places I've never eaten at is like,” she added.

Then she seemingly overexplained why fast food hasn’t been a thing in her life.

Although she claimed she wonders what fast food tastes like, she shared that she’s not interested in finding out.

“Am I going to find out?” she asked herself before answering, “No.”

Candace proudly declared she has no intention to ever eat fast food.

“And no, I’ve never had Taco Bell or anything similar,” she continued. “I don’t regret it. You can’t convince me otherwise.”

It’s not clear what prompted her to share this random rant or why she felt the need to be so judgy about it. Her comments went viral, with people questioning why she felt the need to demonize fast food in a way and to throw subtle shade at people who do eat fast food.

But after her rant, the internet did what the internet does best — people online pulled up receipts.

After her strange comments went viral, internet sleuths got to work to prove Candace was lying. And someone found an old image Candace posted in 2012 that has been deleted.

“@candacecbure this you?” a twitter user wrote, adding a photo of Candace with one of her kids eating fast food in the car with the caption, "We love chikin!"

Chick-fil-A is fast food.

Since that image was unearthed, Candace hit back at the claims she was lying.

A representative for Candace told Insider that she was not lying, and she has an explanation for the image in the car with her son.

"Candace told me that she drove her son to get food at Chick-fil-A and she only ordered an iced tea for herself. Candace is only holding a cup," the representative wrote in an emailed statement.

The rep also called the accusations that Candace is lying to be "untrue" and "ridiculous."

Candace isn’t new to stirring up discussions on social media, and this probably isn’t the last time she will.
