Chrisley Family Will Star in New Reality Show While Julie & Todd Are Still Behind Bars

The Chrisley family is heading back to reality TV! In an interview with People, the family revealed that they were creating a new as-yet untitled show with Scout Productions. The show will focus on Chase Chrisley, Savannah Chrisley, Grayson Chrisley, Chloe Chrisley, and Nanny Faye Chrisley as they deal with life in the wake of Todd and Julie Chrisley’s legal issues and prison sentences.

A release from Scout Productions explains that the show will be a "continuation of their story" where viewers will get to see the Chrisley family as "they truly are — just as dynamically entertaining and naturally hilarious as ever, but not shying away from authentic drama and grit that makes them just as relatable as ever."

Savannah shared with People that she thinks the timing was right to open up their lives again.

"We couldn't have found better partners in Scout Productions. Their ability to balance popular culture and empathy through authentic storytelling is unrivaled and I know they're going to find the right home for this next chapter of our lives," she added. "We're so happy to be back."

The new show is expected to be 'beyond thrilling.'

Scout Productions Chief Creative Officer Rob Eric also shared a statement with People, noting that "collaborating with the Chrisley family, who are nothing short of reality royalty, for their much-anticipated return to TV is beyond thrilling."

"They're ready to bring their signature heart and quirk back to the fans and we look forward to telling their story," he continued.

This new show is months in the making. Back in February of this year, Savannah teased the Chrisleys' return to reality TV.

During an episode of her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, she spoke with niece Chloe Chrisley (who she’s raising while her parents are in prison), and her grandmother, Nanny Faye, about their possible return to our screens.

At the time, Savannah shared that a show was in the works. Nanny Faye was enthusiastically on board with the idea, saying, "I'm ready to go work. I'm ready to walk down that highway any day … I'm ready."

Of course, their current lives will be a big part of the show.

Savannah revealed that she didn’t think their show Chrisley Knows Best was really reflective of the family’s reality, calling it "more of a comedy." She also shared that the new show will be a more honest look at what is happening to the family with Todd and Julie in jail.

"We're going to touch on where we're at today, Mom and Dad being gone, how we're coping with it, how we get through it," she said. "Also too, having two kids and all of us stepping in to make sure that they have what they need emotionally, psychologically, physically, all the things, I feel like there's a level of humor to it as well."

The Chrisley family has a long road ahead.

She declared that their new show "will be heartwarming. It'll break your heart, you'll laugh."

In November of 2022, a federal judge sentenced Todd and Julie Chrisley to a combined 19 years in prison for tax fraud.

Todd is serving a 12-year prison sentence at a facility in Florida, and Julie is serving her seven-year sentence at a prison in Kentucky. After they are released, they will each have to serve 16 months of probation.
