Following an intense and terrifying three-day search, police in Canada have safely located a missing toddler. Rachel Todd posted a concerning video on TikTok on June 15, 2025, and later reported that her daughter, Claire Bell, was missing. Police arrested Todd on charges of child abandonment but, at the time, could not find her daughter. Miraculously, Québec police, Sûreté du Québec, confirmed they found Claire safely on June 18, and the child reportedly shared a sad story with police.
On June 15, Todd posted a video on TikTok captioned, “Have you ever faced a mother who has nothing left to lose?” In the short clip, the mother is holding Claire, looks at the camera, and appears to threaten someone. “You try that again and this is going to get ugly,” she says with an angry look on her face.

There was a massive search for Claire, whom police found with the help of a drone. According to the Toronto Sun, they located the toddler alive and unharmed in Alberta, Ontario, close to a highway.
Per the National Post, when rescuers finally located Claire, she allegedly told them, “I’m waiting for mom, she told me to wait for her,” reported Radio-Canada, CBC’s French-language branch.
Claire appeared to be OK, and CTV reported that first responders immediately began aid.
“She was speaking with the police officer, she was alive. We provided some first aid, water, and food,” Sûreté du Québec representative Éloïse Cossette shared in a media update. “The priority is just to make sure she is OK.”
Finding Claire safe meant a lot to those who searched for her.
“We are so proud of the work that was done here,” Dany Chaput, on-site coordinator for the Association of Quebec Volunteers for Search and Rescue, told the Toronto Sun. “The number of passionate volunteers who came here over the last few days to help – we kept our hopes up, and what a relief.”
It was an emotional day for everyone involved.
“People were crying,” he added, per the news outlet. “So much stress just fell off our shoulders. It’s a happy ending. We don’t yet know exactly the state of her health, but it seems her life is not in danger. So people are in really good moods.”
Todd is in custody, and the case remains under investigation.
