Mom Says Her Second-Grade Daughter Was Targeted by Multiple Male Classmates

It’s hard enough to send your kids to school in America without worrying about lasting trauma from what kids may not even see as inappropriate behavior toward them. A mom by the name of Denise shared a TikTok video where she explains her second-grade daughter was chased and held down by multiple boys on the playground in an apparent game that no one else found funny.

Like I said, it’s hard having kids in school where you can’t make sure they are taken care of 100% of the time. Denise says in her TikTok that her daughter was OK afterward but that she could tell her daughter was already learning to “compartmentalize,” which is what many women know all too well if they have been the victim of trauma in one way or another. And it sparked a greater debate in the comment section.

The Mom says her daughter was afraid to fight back.

Denise explains in her TikTok that her daughter’s teacher took her aside to explain what happened. Although Denise was initially worried that her daughter got into trouble in some way, she quickly realized that her daughter was actually the victim in an incident with three boys during recess.

“She proceeds to tell me that, during recess, three boys basically chased my daughter, tackled her, and then pinned her down, and one of the boys was, like, aggressively pinching her,” the mom says in her TikTok. “And, apparently, the teacher that was on duty doing recess immediately saw it, ran, and started yelling, and removed the boys, and took Lucia, my daughter, to her classroom.”

Denise’s daughter’s teacher was then immediately informed about what happened. By all accounts, it sounds like the school took the right measures to immediately stop the incident and contact Denise. But in some ways, the damage was done, especially because it was a situation where one child, a female, was overpowered by three others, who were all boys.

Denise adds in her video that she hates that her daughter, a second-grade child, now has to “understand that feeling” of being made to feel powerless by a male. Yes, the situation was between children, and yes, it was stopped as soon as a teacher saw what was happening. But according to Denise, it was still likely traumatic for her daughter. Especially because her daughter told her she was afraid to fight back for fear of getting into trouble herself.

“For every woman that has experienced the feeling of being pinned down by a male, there is literally no worse feeling on this planet, to feel that powerless and lacking control and all of those things,” the mom says.

Other parents urged the mom to report the school incident to authorities.

In the comments under the video, some parents told Denise to report the incident to local authorities outside of the school. Others suggested she enroll her daughter in self-defense or jiu jitsu classes. And some just want the parents of boys to do better in teaching them how to behave toward other kids of any gender.

“Parents of boys, you’re failing us,” one person commented under the TikTok.

Someone else wrote, “What happened to these boys? I want those parents in a meeting asap.”

Another commenter shared, on a much snarkier level, “Boy moms are awfully quiet in these comments, these are the sweet baby boys y’all are raising.”

In a follow-up video, Denise says she isn’t going to share the consequences the boys faced at the school because it was being properly handled. Her goal in her initial video was to help other parents know how to prepare themselves and their kids for similar situations.
