Every time a Duggar sins and a scandal goes public, people develop new theories about the 19 kids and their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. And when Joseph and Kendra Duggar were arrested and rumors about locking their children in their rooms began to swirl, people who have followed the 19 Kids and Counting family began to speculate once again.
Joseph was arrested for alleged molestation that occurred on a family vacation with a victim who was not related to his family. Kendra was arrested for child endangerment and false imprisonment. In a TikTok video, a user speculated on which Duggars are now removing locks from their children’s bedroom doors. Then, people commented to share their other Duggar-centric theories.
Kendra and Joseph Duggar reportedly had locks on the outside of their kids’ bedrooms.
Per Us Weekly, when police visited Kendra and Joseph’s home following his arrest, they found that two bedroom doors had locks on the outside rather than the inside. This led to Kendra’s charges. Kendra hasn’t spoken publicly about having locks on the outside of any of her kids’ rooms for safety or something else, but now, people are wondering if other adult Duggar kids practice the same thing with their kids.
Some users on Reddit speculated on a thread that Kendra might have seen the method of locking toddlers in their bedrooms from her own relatives or from the Duggars and that she thought it was OK to do. Or, at the very least, she might not have known it was illegal or inherently dangerous to do. More dangerous than a toddler who sneaks out of their bedroom at night.
People think other adult Duggar kids lock their kids in their rooms.

Even those who prefer to be snarky when it comes to the Duggars know a thing or two about the family and about who might be guilty of the same thing Kendra was accused of. Under the TikTok about which Duggars have similar parenting habits, someone wrote that “Jessa Blessa” definitely shares this tactic with her brother Joseph. Jessa Blessa being Jessa Duggar, of course.
“Honestly, Jill is the only one that I would bet on to not have locks in the first place,” someone else commented. “Jana probably OK since hers is a baby…the rest are probably scrambling.”
“Jessa 100% and Joy wouldn’t surprise me either,” another wrote. “I assume Jill and Jinger are marked safe.”
Someone also added, “Wasn’t there a recording of one of the sisters putting a lock on the door when her toddler kept walking out of nap time? I could have sworn there was.”
The Duggars have openly discussed blanket training on 19 Kids and Counting. It’s a method of using a small punishment to reprimand a baby when they leave the space of a blanket. The idea is to teach obedience and to keep a child in one spot. It’s not unlike the idea of adding locks to doors.
People also have questions and theories about the Duggar men specifically.
Another person commented on the TikTok to call for other men in the family to be investigated.
“Every man in that family is a predator, you cannot convince me otherwise!!” They wrote. “The mother is also culpable for the abuse, she allowed her sons and most likely husband to abuse!!!!”
Someone also commented, “Why can’t they just stop molesting children?” Which is totally fair.
Really, though, the hits keep coming for the Duggar family, and in most cases, the adult Duggar sons seem to be the blackest sheep in the family.
As for Michelle Duggar? “They also need to investigate Michelle Duggar like…yesterday,” a TikToker added.
