Victoria Alexendar arrived at work on April 13, 2026, like any typical Monday. She worked as a nurse at Excelcare Rehabilitation Facility in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, but sadly never saw any patients that fateful day. Victoria Alexander’s estranged husband, Brandon Alexander, reportedly waited for her to arrive around 6 a.m. and ambushed her. Police say Brandon Alexander, 35, fatally shot his 38-year-old wife and then himself in a tragic murder-suicide.
The incident unfolded quickly.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office shared details of the morning’s events in a news release. When Victoria Alexander arrived at work, her husband evidently blocked her vehicle in a parking spot with his own and got into her car. Once inside, he reportedly put “two suicide notes on the dashboard.” A delivery truck driver approached the couple a short time after and asked Brandon Alexander to move his car. Victoria Alexander saw this as an opportunity and ran.
Victoria Alexander nearly made it to safety.
The terrified woman ran for the building, but her husband followed her. Brandon Alexander reportedly shot Victoria Alexander several times before turning the gun on himself. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene. Brandon Alexander died a short time later at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – City Division.
The incident shocked the community.
In a statement obtained by CBS News, Lior Benesti, the Excelcare of Egg Harbor facility administrator, shared condolences with the Alexander family and beyond.
“We are deeply saddened by the heartbreaking death of one of our beloved employees during a domestic confrontation at our facility this morning. This has shaken everyone at Excelcare of Egg Harbor and we offer our profound condolences to our staff member’s family and friends. This was an isolated incident and our residents were not endangered. We continue to fully cooperate with the police as they investigate this tragedy,” the statement reads.
Family and friends cannot believe the couple died in such a tragic way.
Tributes on social media share love with the victim’s family.
“Truly breaks my heart. Tori didn’t deserve this. Tracy shouldn’t be burying her daughter and the boys shouldn’t be growing up without a Mom. Mental health is no joke but this senseless act of violence I’ll never understand,” a friend shared on Facebook. “I love you Tor.”
“Dang baby girl you didn’t deserve this. I can’t even believe I’m writing this,” another person shared. “From HBC days as kids growing until our adult days we never missed a beat. Ima miss you so much best friend!! For your boys and family. I love you baby girl.”
Victoria Alexander will be missed by many who truly adored her.
“I will miss seeing you every morning Victoria Alexander one of my favorite nurses the floor will never be the same without you,” a coworker wrote. “My prayers go out to the family.”
It’s not clear what prompted the tragic shooting, but it really doesn’t matter. No one deserves to die at the hands of another, particularly not someone they love. May her children be healed and get the help they will need to work through this surreal time in their lives.
