It goes without saying that her name and face do not need to be in the news for everyone to see, but truly, her safety and wellness should be front of mind for everyone because she was just an innocent girl. Reportedly, the 14-year-old victim, who was just 9 at the time, is “not scared” and “doesn’t want to hide.” She also allegedly has ties to Kendra Duggar’s family.

When you have been taken advantage of in one of the most vile ways possible, it can be one of the most difficult things to come forward due to all of the shame that you feel. Now, imagine if you’re still a child or a teenager.
According to an exclusive source to spoke to Us Weekly, Joseph Duggar’s alleged victim in the child molestation case “refuses to live in fear” and is “keeping a brave face” amid all the attention that’s currently surrounding the case.
“It took a lot for her to come forward, but she is not scared. She is strong. She doesn’t want to hide,” the source exclusively shared with Us Weekly.
Duggar was arrested in Arkansas in March and faces sexual abuse allegations from a 14-year-old girl who alleges she was 9 years old at the time of the incident.
A source reveals that the victim is actually someone close to Kendra Duggar’s family.
While the identity of the victim has not been revealed, a source told Us that she is someone who is close to Kendra Duggar, Joseph’s wife, and her family.
Kendra’s parents, Christina and Paul Caldwell, have not remained untouched throughout all this as they have allegedly faced financial difficulties and even gotten kicked out of their home that belonged to Joseph and Kendra.
The insider shared with Us Weekly that “[Kendra’s parents] Christina and Paul Caldwell are not hiding that Joseph’s victim is [close to the Caldwell family]. Christina has told other members of their church, but she is not sure she wants to talk about it so publicly. That is what she is struggling with, but she is not hiding it.”
It turns out that the Caldwell family have a little more to say than that.
The Caldwell family shared on Instagram in April that they stand behind the victim throughout all this.
On April 15, 2026, Paul and Christina Caldwell shared a statement on their Instagram page that may be surprising to some people. They said, “Our family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law. We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will.” Wow, extremely powerful words.
They went on to share that “Our love for this child remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and minds. We are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while also retaining her own identity and joy.”
They also shared a message of solidarity to other sexual abuse victims. “We pray all victims of crimes can be as courageous as this young girl is. They should be able to share their story, to trust in the judicial process, and to do so without fear of retaliation. You are not alone,” they wrote.
A lot of people in this Reddit thread seem to be happy that the Caldwells are showing public support for the victim. One person commented, “I’m glad that they believed the victim and are standing by her.”
Another individual in the comments admires them showing their support, but doesn’t care for the Caldwell family in other ways. “I support them in supporting the victim. I do not support them in the way that they have not provided secure housing for their family. They are in the situation they are in now because of that,” they shared.
Whatever your feelings are about the Caldwells, or even the Duggars, it should be apparent that the victim in this case should have her privacy respected and be shown dignity and support at every turn.
