After the many leaked emails from when Josh Duggar was in jail before he was transferred to federal prison in 2022 were released, people got a clearer image of his marriage to Anna Duggar. Some of the emails asked Anna for bathing suit pictures or otherwise sexy photos for Josh to keep in his cell, and now, some of those photos might have been released.
But before you get your modesty panel in a bunch, the photos posted on Reddit are hardly risque. Instead, they seem to pass for what fundamentalist Christians Anna and Josh might see as immodest. Still, the photos show another side of what Anna and Josh’s relationship was like before his incarceration and how she truly stuck by him despite his conviction charges related to child sexual abuse material.
The photos show Anna Duggar in less modest clothes than people are used to.

In the photos posted on Reddit, Anna is in selfies in her bed. There’s quite a bit of coverage happening, which might be due to Josh’s insistence in their emails about her showing more skin. She also has a strange duck face expression in some of the selfies, which is giving 2009, but she seems intent on doing it in a lot of the photos.
“Well, I don’t think he would have gotten much of a trade for these in prison!” A Redditor commented on the post.
Another person joked, “Yeah. I can’t see him getting any snack cakes for those pictures.”
In the dozens of leaked emails from Josh’s time in jail before he was transferred to federal prison, he asked Anna for photos of herself and complimented her on the ones she had already sent. People joked that these photos were probably going to be used to trade with other inmates, but of course, Josh didn’t say as much in his messages to Anna at the time.
Some of the pictures raise questions about what Josh Duggar wanted the photos for.
Because of Anna’s totally cringe duck face in the selfies she sent to Josh, some Reddit users commented on the post so speculate on if Josh requested she make that expression for a very specific reason. Some of his emails to her show strange emojis that seem to emulate oral sex, and now, her own facial expressions sort of look like the emojis Josh wrote with punctuation marks and letters.
“I thought she was pretending to do oral,” a user commented.
In response to that, someone joked, “If she can give oral barely opening her lips, I think that explains a lot about [Josh’s] insecurity.”
Another user speculated that it’s simply Anna’s “kissy face.”
Someone also commented, “Didn’t he get a batch then coach her on taking sexier ones next time? I wonder what batch this is or if it’s everything. Hopefully one of you is deeper into the rabbit hole and can tell.”
People think Anna Duggar actually enjoyed the attention from Josh Duggar during this time.
At the time of the photos, Josh was found guilty and awaiting sentencing. So when Anna took the photos, she did so with the knowledge that in a court of law, her husband was proven guilty of perverse crimes. Clearly, she still believed in his innocence, though. And, according to some people in the comments on the Reddit post, Anna might have even welcomed the attention and adoration at this time.
“Am I the only one who thinks Anna was probably elated at all the love and attention Josh started giving her when he was in jail?” Someone wrote. “I doubt he love bombed her like that before he HAD to and she probably thought she finally was getting the attention she wanted.”
