If you’re a mom, you already know that all our kids care about is that we show up to their important moments — not how we look when we show up to them (unless, of course, we’re wearing something embarrassing). Sometimes, it just feels good to dress for motherhood in a way that makes you feel good and comfortable, but is there a wrong way to do that? Some people definitely seem to think so after one mom on TikTok shared the unconventional way she dresses to cheer on her son at his baseball games.
Athleisure is simply not for her.

For many of us, athleisure is the name of the game when it comes to the “mom uniform.” It’s usually comfortable, it stands up well to a lot of movement and even sweat — things that are important when you’re chasing little kids around all day, especially outdoors and in hot weather.
But one stay at home mom on TikTok, Leanna, shared that she actually prefers to wear the loose, ethereal styles like the fashion that is sold on Free People. Not for a brunch with friends or for a date night, though. Instead, it’s her every day attire, including when she stands in the dirt to cheer on her son during his baseball games.
“More of a Free People mom and less of a Lululemon mom,” she wrote in the video, adding in her caption, “God forbid a girl wear pantaloons to a ballgame.”
A lot of people simply cannot handle it.

In the video, Leanna’s wearing what looks like baggy, lace-trimmed bloomers in a cream color paired with a matching duster and a baseball cap with her long, blonde hair flowing down her back. She looks comfortable but still a little out of place in that outfit — something that her TikTok viewers did not miss.
“When your kid has a baseball game at 6 but you have a haunting at 7,” one commenter wrote, comparing her to a ghost.
Another quipped, “what in the window treatment is this?”
Others gave her a lot of credit for being herself.

“I’m more of an Adam Sandler myself. You’re gorgeous,” a fellow mom said.
“Let’s just let women be women without judging each other,” one commenter wrote (and I absolutely have to agree).
And in the end, Leanna really doesn’t seem to be trying to mock the Lululemon devotees, according to one of the comments she left on the post.
“This is a video of what I’m wearing (not someone else) and I’m saying I’m personally more of a boho/whimsy mom than an athleisure style mom. All of my friends are more athleisure style too,” she said.
To each her own. If she loves the pantaloons, more power to her.
