What to Know
Police in Louisiana arrested a mother for the second time in just months, accused of child abuse and domestic violence. Johnnikkia Robinson’s unconventional child-rearing landed her behind bars in April 2026 for several weeks.
Reports indicate she went back to her old ways quickly after her May release. Police arrested her a second time on July 6 for allegedly attacking her partner of 15 years. Robinson’s being held without bond.
A concerned witness called police on Robinson.
According to court documents obtained by local news source Unfiltered with Kiran, Robinson’s first arrest in April came after police received a call about an intoxicated woman.
They reported to the 3000 block of North Street looking for a drunk woman “walking down the road and headbutted her child.” The caller alleged Robinson “is always walking around the neighborhood asking for food with the two children.”
The mother reportedly tried to hide.
Per the arrest affidavit, when Robinson saw police, she reportedly attempted to hide. When they eventually located her, she reportedly admitted to drinking a half-pint of vodka. When asked about the alleged attack on her daughter, Robinson eventually justified her actions against her daughter, stating the witness saw her “headbutting her child is motherly love.”
Police noted in the report that the child had a “small knot on her forehead.”
Robinson’s daughter alleged the mother left her sister at home alone after the sister threw something at her. Police did not indicate the children’s ages but reported that they took them to their father’s home.
They arrested Robinson on cruelty to juveniles and disturbing the peace by drunkenness charges. She stayed in jail until May 21, when she posted a $5,500 bond, Unfiltered with Kiran reported.
Robinson’s alleged actions stumped some people.
Eric Jonson posted about Robinson’s case on social media, and many wondered why she would headbutt a child.
“This is just heartbreaking. How can a mother be so cruel to her own children? The system should have stepped in after the first arrest and taken the children away for their own safety. They always wait till it’s too late. She is evil to those children, and someone needs to get this woman some mental counseling,” one person commented.
Others thought that Robinson’s behavior stemmed from upbringing. Like this person who wrote, “She just may be committing a learned behavior…because it is what SHE experienced growing up! It doesn’t justify it, and it appears it will continue if allowed.”
Robinson’s second arrest came weeks after her release.
On July 6, police arrested Robinson a second time. In that case, a man Robinson’s been in a relationship with for 15 years said she physically attacked his daughter and son on June 28.
The unidentified man said that when he confronted her, she allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and threatened him. He called 911, and Robinson reportedly ran away. They arrested her a short time later.
She denied the allegations, but a judge put a hold on her in jail, which would bar her from posting bond, Unfiltered with Kiran reported.
She faces domestic abuse, child endangerment, and multiple child cruelty charges.
