21 Times Prince George Was a Total Mood at Royal Events

Oh, Prince George. He may be young, but we are starting to think that he is most definitely wise beyond his years. Although most kids would jump at the chance to be the center of attention and hang out with their super famous, super cool family, George isn't quite so taken with it all.

Sure, the cameras have caught him being the fun, carefree kid that we know he is at heart, but sometimes, he is so over his royal lifestyle. And even though we can't relate to his celebrity status, we can most certainly relate to him being visibly done at family events. This royal kid definitely wears his feelings on his sleeve.

Over the years, we've gotten to know George as a cheeky little tot who honestly is the true boss of the royal family. He's starting to get older now — before we know it, he'll be in the double digits — but through it all, his attitude hasn't changed.

When we remember that George is probably going to be king one day, his reactions to family outings become even funnier. We can just picture King George giving his signature judgy look in the middle of an important royal event. It will just make him all the more relatable!

Honestly, no matter what mood we're in, there's a George facial expression for it. So in honor of our favorite spunky young royal, here are 21 times when George was a total #mood. We just can't get enough of this guy!

Deep Despair

Princess Charlotte is clearly the type of kid who loves attending family events, but George on the other hand … well, he clearly has better things to do. At this Trooping the Colour ceremony, it looked as if little George was plotting about 10 different ways he could make his escape.

Jet Lag Hits Everyone

Kate Middleton and Prince William don't take their kids on all of their royal trips, but the Cambridge kids have done more travel in their lifetime than we've ever done. Naturally, all of those international flights can catch up with a little kid. George, as we can all see, is totally over all of the air travel.

Dreading School

Some kids are super excited about their first day of school, but when the first day involves a lot of cameras and holding hands with you dad and your teacher — not so much. Maybe he just wanted to walk in without the world watching! We don't blame you on this one, George.

Such Disgust

Clearly, George was not pleased about whatever it was he saw through that window at Buckingham Palace. This little guy is a royal after all, so we have to assume that his standards are pretty high. Or he just really wanted to stay inside, remain unbothered, and watch TV.

Been There, Done That

If there's anything we should know about George, it's that he's totally over the whole Trooping the Colour balcony appearance. And unlike most royals, this little guy makes his feelings known pretty openly. Now that Trooping the Colour hasn't happened for a couple of years, we wonder if he'll have changed his tune by next time?

'Um … What??'

When George is disgusted by something, he's going to let us know. This look is more of a glare of judgment, and we'd hate to be the person on the receiving end of this royal stare — though we're dying to know what he was thinking about when this picture was taken.

Not Feeling Human Interaction

Sometimes, we really just don't feel like talking to anybody — especially after a long day of travel — and it looks like George could relate to that. No matter how many words of encourage he gets from his dad, George wasn't going to be persuaded otherwise.

Keeping Things in Line

George clearly wasn't having it with any of the other young kids that were in the party for aunt Pippa Middleton's wedding. But don't worry, one look like that from a soon-to-be king, and we're pretty sure the other little ones got in line. After all, he has a lot more experience with these kinds of events than most other kids his age.

The Duke of Cambridge, try as he might, was not going to get George to enjoy being on that balcony (and at that age, he probably didn't even understand what was going on anyway). If we had to guess, the Trooping the Colour ceremony seems like George's least favorite event of the year.

Can't Take the Heat

We're sure George would have rather been in his best pair of swim trunks lounging by the pool, but instead he was stuck in another posh button-down shirt holding hands with his father — and probably talking to strangers about boring things. Can this kid catch a break?

Unimpressed

Lesson learned: Don't ever get in George's face like this, even if he's being kept safe by his mother at the time. He will most certainly not be happy — he doesn't care who you are. Then again, who are random adults to the future king of England?

Burst of Excitement

And sometimes — just sometimes — George lets us know that he is a fun-loving kid just like his sister. Someone must have told him that there would be some royally delicious desserts after this Trooping the Colour ceremony (which clearly wasn't all boring).

Another Day, Another Pair of Knee Socks

Royal boys have to wear shorts until they're considered old enough to wear long pants, making these socks a necessity. We're pretty sure that George is just waiting for the day when he can dress himself, and then those knee socks will be a thing of the past. What we think is adorable, this little royal probably isn't a huge fan of.

In Need of a Stiff Nap

From what we can tell, George was in the middle of a nice relaxation session when his parents said that it was time to make their way over to Buckingham Palace — and there may have been a little protesting involved. The Queen can wait; little George needs his daily nap.

The Furrowed Brow

One of the things we love about George is that he always lets us know how he's feeling — and that habit started from the minute he was old enough to form opinions. If we had to guess, we'd say that furrowed-brow look of his is going to get pretty famous pretty soon.

Double Trouble

Yep, they may have different personalities, but these two are most certainly siblings, and Charlotte is just as much of a ham as her big brother. This picture of the two Cambridge kids giving a double-trouble glare of judgment is photography gold. Don't mess with these royals!

Keep Your Distance

Everyone has those moments when they just wish everyone would just stay away and mind their own business. By the look on baby George's pursed face, we'd say that he was most definitely feeling a little antisocial that day. We'd hate to be on the receiving end of this expression.

Can't Handle It Anymore

Another Trooping the Colour event that did not live up to George's expectations. Someone get this kid a piece of cake and some Peppa Pig to watch! We can imagine being on that balcony with the entire family isn't exactly thrilling for a young child, so we can't really blame George for being done with it all.

When It's Finally Friday

No-responsibilities George is a happy George! He doesn't have any balconies to stand on, he doesn't have to hang out with his entire extended family … all he has to do is play outside and be a normal lad. This is definitely how we feel when it's finally the weekend.

Not Pleased at All

Oof, that is not a look we would like to receive from George. He may have been super small at the time, but that facial expression packs a punch. We'd like to think that he was just being protective of his baby sister. Or maybe he didn't love this outfit?

Ready To Go Home

In February 2022, George joined his parents for a rugby game, though he didn't necessarily look too pleased about the whole thing. In some shots, he was happy, and in others, he looked like he'd had about enough and was ready to head home. We all hit that wall sometimes, George.
