They've reportedly kept the news of their split quiet for a while.
Apparently, the couple has been separated since January of this year. A source told Page Six that the split was amicable.
"They came to the decision together," the source said. "They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends."
The source also claimed that the split was a long time coming. Dalton went to London, where Ariana is filming the Wicked movie, to try to salvage the relationship, but apparently, it was no use.
She was quick to shut down previous divorce rumors.
Back in August 2022, Ariana sparked rumors about possible trouble in paradise but shut them down quickly.
She wasn’t wearing her rings while she filmed a makeup tutorial for her TikTok, but she reassured her followers that nothing was going on.
"I'm just not wearing my wedding ring. It's getting cleaned. I'm not getting a divorce before you start, don't," she said.
She has been quite busy this year.
Her ringless outing at Wimbledon is what tipped people off that something was amiss in her relationship with Dalton. She was last seen wearing them in public back in April, when she attended Jeff Goldblum’s concert in London. Otherwise, she's been keeping things pretty low key.
The couple has always kept a relatively low profile.
Despite their relationship ending, Ariana and Dalton are moving forward from a place of love.
"They’ve been really good friends throughout the entire process, and their friends and families have been trying to protect them," a source told Page Six.
The former couple has always been notoriously private about their relationship, with Ariana only giving her followers occasional glimpses into their life together.

In February, Dalton posted a photo in honor of Valentine’s Day, which Grande reposted. "My forever valentine," he wrote. "I love you," she wrote, adding a heart.
