Time goes by so quickly! Over the weekend, Beyoncé hit the stage for her first concert performance in four years, and she had a special guest on the stage — her 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Beyoncé was in Dubai to help launch a new luxury hotel resort.
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a performance by Beyoncé — four years to be exact. And she really knew how to make a splash for her first big performance at a private concert in Dubai.
The hour-plus long set was full of the singer’s biggest hits throughout her decades-long career. One of the songs included “Brown Skin Girl,” and she brought a special guest on stage to help perform that song.
Beyoncé pulled all the stops for her performance at the Atlantis The Royal Resort in Dubai.
The beginning of the concert started with a fireworks show with the star singing “At Last” by Etta James.
Beyoncé shared with the crowd that she was there with her whole family who were all in the audience with her. Her mom, Tina Knowles, her dad, Mathew Knowles, her husband, Jay-Z, and their three kids, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir.
Beyoncé sang all the favorites from her library of songs including “Crazy in Love,” “Be Alive,” “Beautiful Liar,” and “Naughty Girl.”
When it came time to sing 'Brown Skin Girl,' Blue Ivy hit the stage with her mom.
The 11-year-old jumped right in with her mom in front of a massive crowd and did her thing. Wearing a red sequined jumpsuit and skirt, she hit every move in the choreography while her mom sung the song, and the dancers performed behind them.
Blue Ivy looked as comfortable as could be up there, like she’s been ready for this moment for a long time. And keeping up with Beyoncé isn’t easy, but Blue Ivy totally held her own!
According to sources, Blue Ivy didn’t sing along with her mom.
“Brown Skin Girl” was released in the summer of 2019 as part of The Lion King: The Gift album, and Blue Ivy has both a writing and singing credit for that song.
"Brown skin girl, your skin just like pearls,” Blue Ivy sings at the beginning and end of the four-minute song. "The best thing in the world, never trade you for anybody else."
But it doesn’t appear she sang the song live with her mom, but it’s clear she’s a true star in the making at only 11 years old.
The concert was private, by invitation only, and people were asked not to record.
But it was Beyoncé and the first time she hit the stage in four years, so it didn’t take long for video clips to circulate social media.
Also joining Beyoncé onstage was last year’s America’s Got Talent winners, the all-female Lebanese dance group, The Mayyas.
