20 of the Best Reunions to Come Out of Quarantine

This year has been hard for a lot of reasons — one of them being that we couldn't really gather with our friends or loved ones. Fortunately, we did have group video chatting, which totally changed the game not just for us, but also for celebrities. Tons of stars took to Zoom during quarantine to reunite with their TV or movie casts. Many stars even recorded the interactions and posted them online to bring fans a little joy as we all stayed home.

Several of the get-togethers doubled as fundraising efforts to raise awareness and encourage donations for those suffering during this tough time, and without any movies to shoot, or events to go to, even some of the biggest stars around were suddenly available to reminisce about their iconic roles with their former castmates.

We've gathered 20 of the best reunions to come out of 2020 as proof that not every part of this year has been terrible. Some parts have even been quite fun.

'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'

As part of Will Smith's Snapchat show Will From Home, the actor got all of his Fresh Prince co-stars together over video chat. Almost everyone was there — except Phillip Banks actor James Avery, who died in 2014. Will and his cast members paid tribute to James during the video call and also discussed their time on the show and their favorite filming moments.

NSYNC

For Lance Bass' 41st birthday in May, several NSYNC band members joined together to call Lance for his big day. Noticeably absent? Justin Timberlake, who has time and time again distanced himself from the band that made him famous. The rest of the group seemed to have a good time even without him, though.

'The Office'

On John Krasinski's YouTube show Some Good News, he recruited all his old The Office buddies to help celebrate a couple's quarantine wedding. The stars recreated their iconic wedding dance from Jim and Pam's ceremony where they danced down the aisle to Chris Brown's "Forever." Now that's a wedding party this couple won't soon forget.

'Hamilton'

The Office stars weren't the only ones who had a reunion on the Some Good News Show. John Krasinski also gathered the original cast of Broadway's Hamilton to sing to a young girl. She was supposed to see the show, but no longer could due to the quarantine — but this was much better anyway.

'Lizzie McGuire'

Hilary Duff recruited her old Lizzie McGuire castmates to do a virtual table read of the episode "Between a Rock and a Bra Place." It's the one where Lizzie gets a bra for the first time, and it was so much fun to see these actors reciting their iconic lines again. Some of them look super different now — it was almost hard to recognize them. For example, Gordo has a mustache.

'The Parent Trap'

It's been 22 years since The Parent Trap came out, and Katie Couric rounded up the movie's stars to talk about its legacy. (Even Lindsay Lohan joined in the video chat.) Natasha Richardson, who played the twins' mom, died in 2009, but the cast made sure to pay tribute to her role.

'Victorious'

Victorious turned 10 in March, and Time reported that the stars had originally planned to do a big reunion to celebrate. The stay-at-home order got in the way of an in-person meetup, but they worked around it and opted for Zoom instead. Everyone made it to the video chat — including Ariana Grande. She's never too famous to acknowledge playing Cat Valentine.

'Pitch Perfect'

What could be more perfect than a Pitch Perfect reunion of the Barden Bellas singing Beyoncé's "Love on Top" — nothing, right? Well, actually, what if that reunion was in service of a good cause? Yep, it just got more perfect. The film's stars got together via video to help raise money for UNICEF during these hard times. We love to see it.

'Girlfriends'

The Girlfriends show turned 20 years old this year, and even the quarantine wasn't going to stop the stars from coming together to celebrate the big anniversary. Tracee Ellis Ross, Jill Marie Jones, Golden Brooks, and Persia White all joined in on the Zoom call to discuss their time on the beloved series.

'Hocus Pocus'

Just in time for Halloween, the original cast members of Hocus Pocus reunited. Bette Midler sold tickets to the virtual event for $10 each, with the money going to the New York Restoration Project, an organization that saves the city's green spaces. Beyond just a Zoom call, the stars donned their old costumes, danced, sang, and reminisced about the iconic film.

'The Sound of Music'

Several of the child stars who played the Von Trapps in The Sound of Music reunited in October with some familiar-looking masks. Created by Debbie Turner, who played Marta, the face masks were designed to look like the curtains Maria (Julie Andrews) used for their clothing in the movie.

'Gilmore Girls'

Adam Brody and Keiko Agena, who played Dave and Lane on Gilmore Girls, recently got together for an Instagram Live. The two teamed up to encourage people to vote in the election, and they also talked about their fan-favorite coupling on the show. "Maybe in another universe they ended up together," Keiko said when a fan asked what would have happened to Adam's character had he not left to go star on The O.C.

Well, we didn't get that on the series, but at least we got this IG reunion.

'Community'

The whole cast of Community got together during quarantine to do a table read for charity. They acted out the season five episode, "Cooperative Polygraphy," and also just generally reminisced about being on the show. Many of the actors also reiterated how they're totally down to do a Community movie to continue the show's story. Can we make it happen please?

'Parks and Rec'

NBC made the Parks and Recreation virtual reunion into an official episode where fans got to catch up with the characters of Pawnee five years after the series ended. The episode also doubled as a charity fundraiser for Feeding America to help people out during this tough time.

'High School Musical'

Often missing from High School Musical reunions is Zac Efron, and he also didn't appear during the cast's Zoom get-together in April. The video, however, call did include Vanessa Hudgens Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, and director Kenny Ortega. What team? Wildcats!

'Mean Girls'

October 3 is an important day for Mean Girls fans. It's when Cady Heron asked Aaron Samuels what day it was, and he said October 3. So on October 3 of this year, the Mean Girls cast got together via video chat for an important cause — getting out the vote. They also shared some of their favorite moments and quotes and spoke about the film's lasting legacy.

'Legally Blonde'

Fans are getting a real Legally Blonde reunion when the third film comes out in 2022, but until then, this cast get-together for the movie's 20th anniversary was equally as exciting. Reese Witherspoon even teared up when saying goodbye to everyone at the end. "I can't tell you what it means to me to see your faces," she said. "We all worked together and made this movie together that has inspired so many young people. It's just such a gift … Every time people come up to me and tell me they love this movie, I give it all to you, I share it all with you all."

'Pretty Little Liars'

To help support Feeding America, the cast of Pretty Little Liars reunited to talk all things Rosewood. All the main actors were on hand — except for Keegan Allen who was "in the middle of the mountains" without service. The rest of the cast talked about favorite scenes, favorite couples, and what they stole from set after the show wrapped. (Lucy Hale took a poster from Ezra's apartment.)

'Lord of the Rings'

Actor Josh Gad invited the Lord of the Rings cast on his Reunited Apart series to talk about the epic film franchise. The third movie came out way back in 2003, so it's been a while since this group of actors has all gotten together. But Elijah Wood remarked that it didn't feel like any time had passed at all, since the group was able to pick up their friendships right where they left off.

'My So-Called Life'

In April, actor Wilson Cruz revealed that he and his My So-Called Life stars had gotten together over video chat. "So…This happened the other night. Most of the #MySoCalledLife cast was available for what turned out to be a very comforting, sweet, heartfelt and overdue reunion. We all have such love for each other, even 26 years later. It was overwhelming to see all of those faces together," he said.

Even Clare Danes showed up!
