Channing Tatum Accuses Jenna Dewan of ‘Stalling’ Divorce Amid Battle Over Finances

Things are heating up in Channing Tatum and ex Jenna Dewan’s divorce. Last week, court documents revealed that they were calling each other as preliminary witnesses for a trial to finally settle the financial aspects of their divorce. The biggest sticking point for Jenna is the success of the Magic Mike franchise. She claims that she is entitled to those finances because the project started during their marriage, but Channing isn’t going for it. The former couple filed for divorce in 2018, but this fight over money continues to drag out divorce proceedings and will not end until it’s all sorted out. Even though they wanted to avoid going to court to settle things, it seems that’s not how it’s going to play out.

Jenna claims this is a fight about what's fair.

"Jenna is just looking for a fair resolution of community assets of the marriage, under California State Law," a rep for the actress told People. "Jenna wants to reach a final determination and close this chapter on her life as soon as possible."

According to the court documents, there are several important issues that would be addressed if the divorce goes to trial, including support, division of property, breach of fiduciary duty, attorneys' fees, and reimbursement claims.

Jenna may be getting in her own way.

According to the rep, the former couple has "been trying to settle for over five years and have gone to many settlement conferences during that time." A source close to Channing, however, claims that Jenna is actually the problem, telling the news outlet that the reason the divorce "dragged on is because Jenna’s actions and claims continuously contradict themselves."

The insider also added that Channing is just ready to move on. After all, they were both declared legally single in 2019, and how, he's engaged to Zoe Kravitz.

"She says she wants a fair settlement but is ignoring all post-separation work Channing and his partners have done to enhance Magic Mike. She keeps stalling negotiations, but says she wants to resolve this," the source continued.

Another source told People that Jenna has "clearly moved on, she’d like for all the doors to close and for her divorce to be finalized. She’s not dragging this on because she wants to or because she’s greedy."

Jenna, who is expecting her second child with fiancé Steve Kazee, reportedly wants all this "settled before she gets married again."

It all comes down to 'Magic Mike.'

According to Jenna, Channing refuses "to accept an equal division of the Magic Mike intellectual property."

She and her team said the franchise, which includes three movies as well as a successful Vegas live show, was initially "developed and co-financed by Channing during marriage with community effort and marital funds." She claims he didn’t tell her about all of these additional business opportunities and kept all the profits to himself after they separated.

Channing believes that 'Magic Mike' is all his.

Channing claims, however, that he "has expended extensive efforts since separation towards the enhancement of the Magic Mike intellectual property and related entities," and it is to be treated as separate property. His lawyers are expressing disappointment over the fact that they have yet to reach a divorce settlement, claiming they’ve "exhausted all efforts in an attempt to settle this matter without litigation."
