Christina Applegate Admits She’s ‘Nervous’ To Attend First Awards Show Since MS Diagnosis

This weekend, Christina Applegate is set to hit a big milestone after her MS diagnosis: Walking her first red carpet. On Sunday, she will be appearing at the Critics Choice Awards, but it's not all excitement for the Dead to Me star. In fact, in a tweet, she admitted that she's "nervous" to go.

Christina has been nominated for an award.

Sunday will be a big night for the 51-year-old actress. Following the final season of her show Dead to Me hitting Netflix, she's been nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her work in the show.

Considering how dedicated she was to returning to work after her diagnosis to be sure that the ending of the story could be told, Christina has certainly earned this nomination.

She admitted in a tweet that she's nervous' about going.

On Thursday, Christina took to Twitter to admit that she's going into her first awards show with a few nervous butterflies in her stomach after finding out about her MS.

"So this Sunday will be the first awards show I have been to since 2019. And the first since MS. NERVOUS! But grateful to the @CriticsChoice for including me," she wrote.

She only recently made her first public appearance post-diagnosis.

In November, Christina appeared at the Hollywood Walk of Fame to accept her star, with her Married With Children costar Katey Sagal at her side, among others who were there to cheer her on.

At the time, she brought along a walking aid and went barefoot, two things that she has said make it easier for her to get around these days.

Christina first revealed her diagnosis in 2021.

In 2021, she shocked fans by sharing that she had been diagnosed with the degenerative disease "a few months ago."

"As one of my friends that has MS said 'we wake up and take the indicated action.' And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo," she added in a follow-up tweet.

There's no doubt fans will be cheering Christina on this Sunday.

She's nominated alongside other deserving women, including Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary and Kaley Cuoco for The Flight Attendant, but there's no doubt that she can hold her own in this group of talented ladies.

We'll be rooting for her!
