It's hard to believe it's been more than a year since the premiere of Shiny Happy People, the Amazon Prime Video docuseries that exposed the Duggar family and their restrictive, cult-like religion, the Institute in Basic Life Principles. But people still want more, and now, it looks like they're going to get what they want. It seems that Shiny Happy People is already filming for season two, and we need more info ASAP!

Filming for the new episodes is already underway.
As The Ashley's Reality Roundup reported, eagle-eyed fans have discovered that the state of Georgia lists Shiny Happy People season two on their "now filming in Georgia" page.
So far, that's all the information we have — and Amazon Prime Video has yet to make the official announcement that more is coming.
It's not clear what the show's second season will be about.
With decades of time spent in the public eye, there's no doubt that there's another season worth of stories to tell from the Duggar family alone, especially if more members of the family have decided they'd like to speak out.
There are also other IBLP families, like the Bates, who could be a potential subject for the upcoming season …
The new season could follow another famous family.
Another TLC family, the Plaths from Welcome to Plathville, could be the subject of the new season. Though it's never been clear what involvement, if any, they've had in the IBLP, they've had a similarly unique upbringing to the Duggar family. Considering how open Olivia Plath, who divorced the family's oldest son last year, has been about deconstructing her own faith since their split, it wouldn't be surprising if she was willing to participate.
The show's producer has hinted at a second season before.
In June 2023, executive producer Blye Faust told The Sun that they had plenty of material for more episodes.
"One thousand percent yes we are open to doing another season," he said at the time. "A few episodes, whatever it may be. There's a lot as you can see that we have not started to touch on. There's a lot of rabbit holes to still go down."

We'll have to stay tuned for more updates.
Here's hoping the show's producers will fill us in soon, and until then … we can only imagine what's left to uncover about the Duggar family. With members like Jill and Jinger only recently feeling comfortable enough to tell their stories, something tells us we've only just begun to scratch the surface.
