Jessica Alba moved her parents to tears in a recent act of love. On August 30, the 43-year-old actress revealed that she bought her parents a house. But not just any house â it was her dadâs childhood home.
She shared a video to her Instagram page detailing a âspecial renovationâ that she and her best friend and cohost Lizzy Mathis had been putting a lot of time and effort into through their Roku Original series Honest Renovations.

She started the renovations about three years ago.
"Almost three years ago, I started the project of my dreams⌠I surprised my parents by buying them a house!! ," she wrote. "Now, it wasnât just any house â it was extra sentimental as it was my grandparentâs house that my father grew up in After my grandfather passed away, my parents were planning on selling the house in order to pay for my grandmotherâs medical bills. Well⌠I pretended like I was going to help them flip it before selling when in reality, I had planned to buy it for them all along ⌠."
She shared the emotional moment she broke the news to her parents.
In the video clip, Jessica shared when she told her parents she had planned to buy the house for them. "I've been trying to figure out how to tell you guys that I'm going to buy you guys this house," the actress said.
Her mother, Catherine Jensen, emotionally replies, "No," while wiping tears from her eyes. "Now the house that you grew up in dad is yours," Jessica adds as her father, Mark Alba, takes a seat, cries into his hands and mentions that her grandfather would "be proud."

The process was emotional for Jessica as well.
"Even just watching this trailer back, Iâm filled with so many feels â after keeping in this big secret, surprising my parents, followed by many many months of working to make the house perfect," she wrote in her Instagram post. "I canât believe this really happened. Grampers, this one is for you â we love and miss you more than you know â¤ď¸"
She couldn't have done it without her team.
"Now, a huge shout out to my partners in crime â @lizzymathis, Tinku and everyone else that helped turn this dream into a reality â I could not have done this without you! Thank you, thank you, thank you ," Jessica added. "Itâs also crazy to think that this project was our first big one before @honest_renovations began⌠Two seasons in and gearing up for a third, it feels completely surreal â grateful doesnât even begin to describe it ."
