Jinger Duggar’s New Video Has Fans Saying ‘Kate Middleton’ & Critics Saying ‘Be Serious’

Most of Jinger Duggar‘s life has been on display on the TLC shows and specials that revolved around her famous family, but that’s not what she chose to show when sharing a throwback to the ’90s on social media. Instead, Jinger decided to use footage of Kate Middleton, as if that’s who she was during that decade, and it’s safe to say that more than a few of her critics are taken totally aback by it.

Jinger shared the video earlier this week.

A trend has become pretty popular on TikTok and Instagram where people — both celebrities and the rest of us mere mortals — share throwback photos of themselves with the prompt, “Mom, what were you like in the ’90s?” set to the quintessential late ’90s song “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Now, it’s Jinger’s turn, and she prefaced the video by writing in her caption, “I couldn’t resist the ’90s throwback trend… brace yourselves.”

But once the video starts playing, it’s not pictures of Jinger as a kid in the ’90s — instead, the entire video is composed of footage of a young Kate instead. Yes, we are talking about the Princess of Wales.

Some people could totally see the resemblance.

Many of Jinger’s followers gushed over the video — including fellow former TLC reality star Tori Roloff — and admitted that they didn’t realize how much Jinger and Kate looked alike until she pointed it out herself.

“Now I can’t unsee the resemblance!” one of her fans wrote, while another said, “So funny because I never noticed that before but I can totally see it now!”

Others were curious about why Jinger didn’t want to share actual photos of herself from the ’90s, though people pointed out to them that this was more of a joke than anything else.

Others were offended Jinger would put herself and Kate in the same league — even jokingly.

A discussion about the video on Reddit brought reactions to her post from her critics that were far more harsh than the ones left on the original video from her Instagram followers.

“Jinger is not the brightest light on the porch,” one person wrote, to which another replied, “She’s not even on the porch.”

One person even pointed out that the fact that she avoided using real pictures says a lot about her childhood growing up with 18 siblings: “The fact that Jinger didn’t flashback to the crunchy perms and denims skirts says a lot about her childhood, especially since she doesn’t have any new stories about it on her podcast. And no, Jinger, you are not like Princess Kate.”

What do you think: Does Jinger actually look like the future queen of England? Should she have just stuck to photos herself in the ’90s instead of even bringing up Kate to begin with?
