Josh Duggar Will Spend Months in Solitary Confinement as He Awaits Disciplinary Hearing

Legal troubles keep mounting for disgraced 19 Kids and Counting alum Josh Duggar. The former reality star was recently busted with contraband while serving a 151-month sentence after being convicted in December 2021 of receiving and possessing images of child sexual assault.

Josh is looking at months in the Special Housing Unit before his hearing is scheduled.

An anonymous source has told OK! magazine that Josh will be spending several weeks in the Special Housing Unit at FCI Seagoville in Texas.

"I would be very surprised if he has been released, as most of the people in there have been in there for months," the source explained. "He has to wait until he has his disciplinary hearing."

He won't have any of the comforts he's enjoyed while he was in 'gen pop.'

Unfortunately for the father of seven, while he's in the SHU his visitors will be "restricted" or completely "disallowed." That means he may not get any visits from his family or friends until after his hearing.

As if that's not bad enough, it sounds like he'll only be permitted one phone call a month.

The conditions are likely a lot worse there, too.

While being in federal prison is certainly no walk in the park, the source claims that things are even worse for inmates who have been remanded to the solitary units.

The source claimed that things are "so bad" in the facility that the regional office was forced to travel out to Seagoville to see "what was going on" in the SHUs.

Josh's pseudo-celebrity status won't help him here.

"They've been keeping prisoners in the SHU indefinitely, not letting them have DHO hearings, which let them know when they're getting out," the source continued. It seems like the FCI takes violations seriously and doesn't make allowances for inmates caught breaking the rules.

That's likely going to sting for Josh, who has often been accused of thinking that the rules never applied to him to begin with.

This all seems to have been brought about by a secret cellphone.

Rumor has it that Josh was caught with a phone in his cell. It seems like he has a long history of being caught with things he shouldn't have, which may make the courts more likely to enforce stricter punishments.

We'll have to wait to see if this impacts his ongoing appeal at all. We're sure the judge is going to be concerned with any claims made by Josh when he's proven so early on that he can't follow even the most basic prison rules.
