Justin Timberlake Faces Backlash After Public Apology to ‘Absolutely F—ing Nobody’

Justin Timberlake is moving on. After the release of ex-girlfriend Britney Spears’ explosive memoir The Woman in Me, the singer faced backlash due to the parts of their relationship that made it into the book. She revealed she had an abortion after becoming pregnant with Justin’s baby, claimed that he cheated on her, and got real about how she felt about the song "Cry Me a River." Although Justin hasn’t directly commented on the book, fans think he finally did after a recent New York City concert.

Justin didn't mince words.

Before performing the hit song during his NYC birthday show, Justin took a minute to address the song’s controversy. He told the crowd, "I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f—ing nobody."

Britney fans immediately went on the defensive.

Naturally, some people didn’t appreciate Justin’s words. The clip circulated on social media, and people didn’t hesitate to voice their own feelings. One person shared multiple vomiting emojis, while another simply opted to call him "trash."

"He really is the worst. What a p—k!" another person shared.

Some fans of Britney's saw the comment as the ultimate diss, especially after she praised his new single. In an Instagram post on Britney's Instagram (which has since been made private) she said she was "deeply sorry" to anyone she "offended." She then went on to address Justin specifically.

“I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish,’” she wrote.

She genuinely seems to enjoy his work, regardless of their past.

She didn’t stop there, either. She also gave a shout-out to Justin’s friendship with late-night host Jimmy Fallon, writing, "It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy [Fallon] together I laugh so hard ???"

"Ps 'Sanctified' is wow too," she shared, talking about the new song Timberlake premiered during his appearance on Saturday Night Live last weekend.

Britney likely heaped the compliments on her famous ex boyfriend after her loyal fan base decided to stream and buy her 2011 song "Selfish" in an attempt to keep Justin’s new single with the same name from reaching the top of the charts.

Thanks to their combined efforts, Britney's fans were able to get her song to No. 1 on the iTunes chart.

Sounds like Justin may not be too happy about that …
