The Kardashians are known for throwing over-the-top celebrations for just about any occasion, but their annual Christmas Eve party is the biggest by far. But unfortunately, this year, some of the family members had to miss it. Khloé Kardashian and her kids, True and Tatum, sat this one out after True ended up with a “really scary” fever as the kiddos battled an illness.

Khloé shared the bad news on her Instagram Stories ahead of the party.
“Tatum was sick the entire weekend and now my TuTu is sick,” she wrote in the post. “For the first time in a long long time we will miss Christmas Eve. I feel so terrible for my sick littles. No fun but I pray we are fine for Santa tomorrow!!!”
She returned to her Instagram Stories later to further explain what was going on.
In a video that Khloé shared on Thursday that has since expired, she explained that 2-year-old Tatum was the first in her family to get sick, and then, just as he was getting better, his big sister, 6-year-old True, came down with the same illness.
“True had a 105 fever. It was really scary. It was horrible. Now she’s just starting to feel better,” she said.
They ended up delaying their Christmas morning excitement so True could take part.
Khloé went on to explain that they held off opening gifts from Santa because True “just wasn’t in the mood” on Christmas morning.
“Poor thing, that’s when you know your kid is sick, when Santa toys don’t even excite them,” Khloé said. That must have been heartbreaking!

Fortunately, it sounds like this year was a good one to miss.
Earlier in December, Kim told Vogue that the family was planning on keeping the party “low key” this year.
“Just because we have a lot of construction going on, so we’re doing a really family intimate one that I’m really excited about,” Kim said in a video shared to the magazine’s Instagram account. “We’re still dressing up to the nines because that’s what we do.”
Fortunately, Khloé did say that True is feeling better.
Hopefully, that means she was able to enjoy the presents that Santa bought her. Being sick on Christmas is the worst, no matter how old you are.
Kids do tend to get sick and ruin our plans every once in a while, especially over the holidays … but there’s always next year!
