Meghan Markle’s New Brand Logo Design Includes a Tribute to Prince Harry’s Relationship With Queen Elizabeth

This year is already shaping up to be a big one for Meghan Markle. Not only did she rejoin Instagram in January, but she’s also preparing for the March 4 premiere of her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. And on top of that, her brand, As Ever, is set to launch on the same day. Now that the logo for the brand is here, we know that it was designed, at least in part, to pay tribute to husband Prince Harry.

Meghan announced her new brand in an Instagram post she shared earlier this week, revealing that she’d be posting some glimpses into the creation of her company, As Ever, in the days leading up to its launch.

“‘As ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always’. If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me,” she wrote in the post. “This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish – food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday.”

The brand’s official Instagram account has also been launched, which features the logo as its profile photo: a palm tree flanked by a hummingbird on each side.

According to what an insider told People, the palm tree is meant to represent Meghan and Harry’s home base of California, while hummingbirds are a “favorite of Prince Harry’s.”

“The distinct shape enclosing the birds and tree was intentionally designed to create a unique and personal emblem,” the source added – despite rumors Meghan copied the logo from another brand.

As People pointed out, Harry wrote about what hummingbirds mean to him in his memoir, Spare, and how he found one in his house after his beloved grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, died.

“I had a devil of a time guiding it out, and the thought occurred that maybe we should start shutting the doors, despite those heavenly ocean breezes,” he wrote in the book. “Then a mate said: Could be a sign, you know? … Visitors, as it were. Aztecs thought them reincarnated warriors. Spanish explorers called them ‘resurrection birds.'”

Though As Ever is Meghan’s project, it’s sweet to see that she found a way to include something so meaningful to Harry in the logo that ties it into her family. Only a couple more weeks to go until we find out what her brand will include.
