Melanie Lynskey Responds to Adrianne Curry Body-Shaming Her Character in ‘The Last of Us’

Former America's Next Top Model star Adrianne Curry found out the hard way that Melanie Lynskey doesn't stand for body-shaming comments. Melanie was quick to react after Adrianne shared a photo of her, complaining about her body and her new role in HBO's The Last of Us. Oh Adrianne, you really should've known better.

Adrienne tweeted a photo of Melanie and complained that she didn't look the part for her new role.

In a since-deleted tweet, Adrienne shared an old magazine photo of Melanie. "Her body says life of luxury … not post-apocalyptic warlord. Where is Linda Hamilton when you need her?"

It sounds like Adrienne was referencing the uber-buff star from several of the movies in the Terminator series in her complaint about Melanie.

Melanie took a screenshot of the tweet before it vanished and sent a message to her haters.

"Firstly, this is a photo from my cover shoot for InStyle magazine, not a still from HBO's The Last of Us," she began her retort. "And I'm playing a person who meticulously planned and executed an overthrow of FEDRA. I'm supposed to be smart, ma'am. I don't need to be muscly. That's what henchmen are for."

Well, we can't argue with that logic!

The 'Yellowjackets' star didn't just use her platform to address Adrianne.

Melanie wasn't going to let the viral moment pass without taking an opportunity to also thank the showrunners for creating a role that Melanie held so near and dear to her heart.

"Other than getting to work with creative geniuses who I respect and admire (Neil and Craig) the thing that excited me most about doing The Last Of Us is that my casting suggested the possibility of a future in which people start listening to the person with the best ideas," she shared.

Adrianne has only doubled down on her comments about the actress.

The ANTM alum crafted another tweet where she seemed to throw additional shade at Melanie by saying she was waiting for Jason Momoa to be upset for her criticism over his portrayal of Aquaman.

When other Twitter users pointed out that Adrianne was getting backlash over her body-shaming comments, she continued to push back.

"Good thing I didn't and complimented her hour glass frame," she wrote. "Sad thing she cropped that out to fit her PR agent's narrative to get her press."

This isn't the first time Melanie's weight has been the topic of conversation.

She's publicly spoken out about other hurtful comments she's gotten in the past, including on the set of her hit show Yellowjackets.

You'd think people would know by now that it's never OK to comment on someone's weight and that if you absolutely have to say something about it, well, it's best to leave Miss Melanie's name out of your mouth when you do.
