Though it's hard to believe that the year is about to come to a close, there's a lot to look forward to in December — and we're not just talking about the holiday season. So many new series and movies are coming to streaming services, and if you're a Netflix subscriber, there's a good chance that your schedule is about to be pretty booked up after you see this lineup.
From highly anticipated films such as Glass Onion, the follow-up to Knives Out, to returning series that fans already love like Emily in Paris and Too Hot To Handle, the list of exciting new arrivals to Netflix in December is a big one. And of course, there are also a few new holiday movies and specials thrown in there for good measure.
Get ready for a month of cozy movie nights and lots of shows to binge watch all weekend long. Here is all of the best new content coming to Netflix in December 2022.
'My Next Guest' With David Letterman
The next installment of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman — the series where the famed talk show host conducts in-depth interviews with public figures — is going to be a big one. Though a release date hasn't been announced yet, Netflix has shared that David's chat with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will premiere in December.
'Sr.'
Robert Downey Jr.'s documentary about his father, Sr., arrives on Netflix on December 2. It will chronicle the filmmaker's life and career from the perspective of the son who followed in his footsteps and created his own hugely successful career, and it's already received excellent film festival reviews.
'Firefly Lane' Season 2
At the end of Firefly Lane we found out that something happened to drive a wedge between lifelong best friends Kate (Sarah Chalke) and Tully (Katherine Heigl), and now we'll finally get to find out why. The first half of the conclusion to the series premieres on December 2.
'Scrooge: A Christmas Carol'
Can there ever be too many adaptations of Charles Dickens' holiday classic? On December 2, the animated Scrooge: A Christmas Carol hits Netflix, but this time it's a bit more magical (and musical). Olivia Colman and Luke Evans both supplied their voice talents to this family-friendly movie.
'Lady Chatterley's Lover'

Also coming to Netflix on December 2 is Lady Chatterley's Lover. In this take on the classic D.H. Lawrence novel that was considered controversial after its original release in the late 1920s, Emma Corrin plays Lady Chatterley, a married woman who has an affair with one of the workers at her estate.
'Too Hot To Handle' Season 4
The reality TV hit Too Hot To Handle is back for its fourth season in December, with a brand new cast of singles determined to beat temptation in order to win a $100,000 prize. The first batch of new episodes begins streaming on December 7.
'Emily the Criminal'
Though Emily the Criminal did hit theaters in August, the limited release means that many people haven't seen it yet. Coming to Netflix on December 7, the movie stars Aubrey Plaza (you can also catch her in HBO Max's The White Lotus) as a woman with a criminal record who's willing to do anything to pay off her student debt.
Guillermo del Toro's 'Pinocchio'

Just a couple of months after Disney+ gave us a live-action Pinocchio, Guillermo del Toro's take is coming to Netflix on December 9. This retelling of the timeless story of the wooden boy whose nose grows when he lies includes the voice talents of Finn Wolfhard, Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, and Cate Blanchett.
'BARDO'
In BARDO: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, Daniel Giménez Cacho plays Silverio, a Mexican journalist and filmmaker who returns to Mexico and is confronted with his past (and what that might mean for his future). BARDO begins streaming on December 16.
'Emily in Paris' Season 3
It's OK to admit that you're excited for the premiere of the third season of Emily in Paris — this is a safe space! Lily Collins is back in this adorable rom-com series about a young American woman living in Paris, and on December 21, fans will finally get to find out which of her two love interests ultimately steals her heart.
'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery'
Fans who didn't get to catch Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery during its limited theater release will be happy to see that it begins streaming on December 23. Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is back to solve a mystery in Greece with a star-studded cast including Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, and more.
'The Witcher: Blood Origin'
If you loved The Witcher and are counting down to next summer's season three premiere, the prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin, will tide you over until then. Sophia Brown, Laurence O'Fuarain, and Michelle Yeoh star in the series, which takes place more than 1,000 years before The Witcher. Stream it beginning December 25.
'Matilda the Musical'
Another big Christmas Day release for Netflix is Matilda: The Musical. Based on the '90s movie, Roald Dahl book, and Broadway musical of the same name, this movie adaptation tells the beloved story of the neglected young girl who took to reading and magical powers to create a better life for herself.
'The Circle' Season 5
On December 28, this popular Netflix reality series is back for a fifth season. In The Circle, a group of singles compete against one another for a six-figure prize as they communicate only through text and social media profiles, where they can choose to either be themselves or lie.
'White Noise'
Closing out the month is Noah Baumbach's latest Netflix release, White Noise, which premieres on December 30. Starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig, the movie is about an American family living after an event that threatens life the way they know it.
