Sometimes family emergencies bring people together, and sometimes it pushes them even further apart. Prince Harry seems to be in the latter category even after his father, King Charles, was diagnosed with cancer. According to royal sources, while the Duke of Sussex was briefly in England to visit his sick father, there was no warm reunion between him and his stepmother Queen Camilla. In fact, Harry chose to keep his distance from her altogether, and some people think that was a bad move.

Prince Harry wasn't there to see the queen.
According to Camilla’s friend Petronella Wyatt, who wrote a column for The Telegraph about the incident, Harry "preferred not to be in the same room with his stepmother when he spoke to the King about his cancer diagnosis."
Harry reconciling with Queen Camilla could have created a big change in their relationship.
Petronella went on to call the lack of interaction with Camilla "a massive opportunity missed" for him to extend an olive branch and perhaps mend some family rifts. She also called the apparent snub "an unprovoked volley in the direction of a 75-year-old woman."
Yikes!
Harry has reportedly made it clear that he doesn't want a relationship with his stepmother.
Prince Harry has never held back his true feelings about his stepmother. In his memoir, Spare, he called her "dangerous," and labeled her as a villain. Even though it’s been nearly 20 years since Charles and Camilla married, Harry still referred to Camilla as the "other woman."
He doesn't think Camilla always has the best intentions.
"I have complex feelings about gaining a stepparent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar," he wrote in his book, adding that he believed she had been leaking stories about the family to gain popularity.

Queen Camilla's friend thinks Harry's words are absurd.
In her column, Petronella took on those assertions made by Harry, writing that Camilla "is palpably incapable of the scheming Harry has often accused her of."
We may never know the real story behind why these two still don't get along, but it's clear that their relationship isn't getting better anytime soon … if at all.
