As parents, many of us hope that we will never have to worry about caring for our kids. We want to be sure they have a good roof over their heads, have food to fill their tummies, and clothes that fit them and make them feel good. It can be a really stressful part of parenting for so many around the world. And then there are the celebrity parents, who seem to have so much money we can't even wrap our heads around it — such as actor Rob Lowe, who recently sold his Montecito mansion for a very, very cool $45.5 million.
We've seen inside several homes of celebrities and taken a tour of their impressive homes. We know that Hilary Duff has some calming décor and Nikki Bella finds outdoor seating important based on the impressive furniture she has in her yard. Their houses and yard are gorgeous, but they are nowhere near the price of Rob Lowe's multimultimillion-dollar space, and looking through his home, it's clear that more money means more extravagance.
The actor had his East Coast-inspired home custom-built from the ground up, which means it's tailored to his taste (and he has great taste). Built on a 3.4-acre plot of land that he and his wife, Sheryl, bought back in 2005, the home features six bedrooms, an impressive 11 bathrooms, and 11 fireplaces. We've got the impressive photos – so come take a peek inside the Montecito mansion Rob Lowe and his family once called home.
Put-Together Living Room
There is so much going on in this living room, yet, at the same time, it doesn't feel like all the seating is making space seem smaller. It has enough room to host a large gathering, and we love it when everything in a room seems to have a place. The wall-to-wall windows give gorgeous light, and that, paired with all the different textures, means this room always has something to enjoy.
Beautiful Kitchen
The kitchen in his gorgeous home does not disappoint. It's a chef's dream, but TBH, any parent would love this space. The island is so big we could have all our kids sit around it and not have to listen to them fight that someone is touching them. All the appliances are top-of-the-line, and it looks so bright and big given the white cabinets.
Breakfast Table
In normal people's homes, this would be the table where most of the meals happen — and maybe that is the case for Rob Lowe and his family, given the elegance of the dining room. This table could be used for breakfast or lunch, homework, or a space to read the news on the phone to start the day. It's a beautiful space with a whole lot of light, which is a huge benefit.
Very Formal Dining Room
This home has one of the most elegant dining rooms we've ever seen! We love everything about this space — from the large dark table to the chandelier and the windows that let in a lot of light. There is not one thing out of place in this room, which looks like the perfect space to host a Christmas dinner or a birthday celebration. We can see one of the 11 fireplaces in this home, and it's stunning.
Book-Lined Hallway
There really is something special about a hallway that works as a library space and is fully lined with books. The railing is one of our favorite looks as well, thanks to the striking contrast in color and the beautiful woodwork. The large artwork above the stairs provides something to look at when going down the stairs, and it's gorgeous from this angle too.
Grown-Up Office
We're not sure what this space was really used for, but we're going to call it a grown-up office. It seems to have some things that we'd typically see in a traditional "man cave," from the pool table to the television inside the built-in bookcases. Still, it's more elegant and elevated than a usual space like that. We love the built-ins and all the books on the shelves. It's impressive the room can easily hold a full-sized pool table and a table with six chairs.
Elegant Master Bedroom
We had a feeling that a master bedroom in this home was going to be beautiful, and we were right. There is so much light with all the windows and the balcony, and we can imagine that the breeze from the water in the morning is like a small slice of heaven. This room features a fireplace, and everywhere we look, it screams comfort and romance.
Glam Theater
Yes, this is a theater room that we're going to obsess over. The screen is almost large enough to feel like an actual theater, and we would love to watch a movie — or have a Netflix scary-movie binge night here. There is enough space to host several friends and still have enough room to sprawl out and get comfortable.
So Much Patio Space
We see a large amount of seating outside, so it's probably safe to assume that Rob and his family enjoyed being outside. We can see the beautiful patio off the main floor and perhaps off the living room area. Still, it's also clear that many of the bedrooms upstairs have seating on the balcony.
Calming Tree Swing
There's something about a tree swing that brings back childhood memories. This could have been where his kids liked to hang out — or just somewhere Rob or his wife enjoyed a quiet setting to relax. It features a beautiful view of the water, and all the other chairs lined up on the side allow everyone to enjoy this space.
Fountain
Here, we can see the view from the chairs and tree swing. (The water looks refreshing.) The fountain likely gives another beautiful view for those resting on the chairs, and we love the lush green grass covering the yard where we imagine so many bright days were spent watching younger family members run and play.
Outdoor Living Room
Many celebrity homes would be lucky to have this much space for the living room, but Rob's is even more special. This is an outdoor living room — and yes, it has a working fireplace. We imagine this space is gorgeous on warm summer nights for hanging out when everyone wants to have some chill time outside or where Rob could host family and friends when the sun went down. It's beautiful in the daylight as well.
Full Tennis Court
We often joke about being able to afford a home with enough space to put a full-sized tennis court (or basketball court), but Rob was able to make it happen. We're not sure if he or his family were avid tennis players. Still, we have to guess that someone who lived there at least enjoyed the sport enough to warrant putting in this full-sized court.
Gorgeous Pool
We expect gorgeous pools to be a part of these multimillion-dollar homes, and this one does not disappoint! It's got plenty of seating around the sides and the hot tub is built right in. The whole family likely spent many hot days lounging and swimming and enjoying the view.
Bright Pool for Night
OK, so we know that this pool is gorgeous, and we would love it so much. However, look at this space at night. With all those lights that brighten up the space, we're even more obsessed with this pool. We love the cool teal lights that highlight the pool and hot tub, as well as the splashes of light around this very well-manicured space.
