One of the most amazing things about kids is the way they can sense exactly what their parents want or need in a moment, and then they just as easily do the exact opposite, even without intentionally meaning to. For example, how many times have we been in a mad rush to get out the door and it's that exact moment when a kid needs to poop? Or can't find their shoes? Or decided to move at a pace that can best be described as glacial? Interestingly, it turns out that this isn't just a problem for us regular moms.
Yep, even royal moms have to deal with this. We assume that for royal moms who are about to bring their offspring out into public, where they know thousands of cameras will be watching them, they really just want the kids to play it cool, smile at the crowds, and offer some friendly waves. What they probably do not want is, well, whatever it was that got into Prince Louis during his various public appearances for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee!
Little Louis pulled so many faces that he became an instant meme, which was both entertaining and evidence of the fact that he is only 4 years old, with all the silliness that involves. But Louis is far from the only young royal to pull a face or make a goofy expression in public, so we've round up 15 examples that prove that royal kids are just as goofy as any other kids!
Princess Charlotte at the King's Cup
Although Louis has been getting a lot of attention for his recent antics, he's certainly not the only one of Prince William and Kate Middleton's kids to get cheeky in front of a large crowd. Princess Charlotte made people laugh when she stuck out her tongue at the 2019 King's Cup Regatta.
A Young Prince Harry

Kids are going to be kids, no matter if they are royal or not. And they have always loved sticking their tongues out at people, as Prince Harry proved in 1987 when he got cheeky with some reporters who were snapping photos of him arriving at school.
Louis at the Jubilee

Louis really stole the show at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee pageant. He was spotted cuddling up to his mom, horsing around with his cousins, looking disgruntled and bored, and doing, well, whatever this cute face was. He's only 4, so who can blame him for not having a poker face yet?
Mia Tindall Cuts Up Too

Louis wasn't the only one of the Queen's great-grandchildren to get a little squirrelly during the Jubilee pageant. Mia Tindall, who is 8 years old, was also spotted making her fair share of faces during the event. Her father, former rugby player Mike Tindall, blamed the antics on the fact that the kids were sugared up on backstage treats. So relatable!
Savannah Phillips

Eleven-year-old Savannah Phillips is another of the Queen's great-grandchildren. (Her grandmother is Princess Anne.) In 2018, she was spotted clamping a hand over her cousin Prince George's mouth and shooting a deadpan, exasperated look at the crowd, like she was just oh so over it.
Prince George at Trooping the Colour
We're not sure what Prince George was seeing (or maybe it was something he was smelling?) at the 2019 Trooping the Colour celebration, but he sure didn't look very impressed by it. That little scrunched-up nose is just too darn cute!
Prince William: Like Father, Like Son?

Hello, same Windsor DNA! This photo of Prince William at the 1988 Trooping the Colour ceremony shows him wearing the exact same facial expression and scrunchy nose as his eldest son would wear a few decades later. Times may change, but a royal kid will apparently always find something to make a face at during Trooping the Colour.
Prince Harry — Again

Sometimes we can tell that kids are making a face or sticking out their tongue because they are bored or in a grumpy mood. But sometimes we can tell that it is just coming from a place of playfulness or silliness. We for sure put this 1988 picture of Harry in the playful category!
Double Faces With Princesses Beatrice & Eugenie

This double shot of royal face pulling is courtesy of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 1992. We're not sure what horse-related nonsense these two caught a glimpse of, but we're thinking it probably didn't smell amazing.
Louis Is Unimpressed
Trooping the Colour is the annual parade to celebrate the Queen's birthday. It is also a long day of standing and waving, especially if you're a 4-year-old, which is why the cameras were able to capture this shot of Louis looking so totally over it.
Lena Tindall Has a Cousin Moment

Sure, all of the festivities associated with the Queen's Platinum Jubilee were major public events, but they were also basically a huge family get-together for the many members of the Windsor clan. At one point, cameras caught Lena Tindall making faces at her cousin Charlotte, because that is what little cousins do!
Cambridge Kids Trifecta

This shot from Trooping the Colour in 2019 is the trifecta of royal kid faces. Louis has the scrunchy nose and looks like he's about to lose his cool. George looks deeply skeptical, and Charlotte is just looking sweet as pie. It really makes us wish we knew what they were looking at when they made these faces!
George's Wedding Face

A family wedding — Princess Eugenie's in this case — is the perfect time for flower girls and pages to goof off with each other. It is always fun to look at photos of the youngest members of the bridal party and see their various faces, including whatever this silly face from George is!
George Takes Charge

With his hands on his hips and that deeply unimpressed face, it appears George has some notes on the Platinum Jubilee pageant and is just about ready to take charge of the whole thing. The future King of England has such an expressive face when he puts on a skeptical look.
Louis Goes Big
When it comes to making a face, there is the minor cheekiness of sticking out a tongue or rolling the eyes. But little Louis brings out the big guns when he goes for the full tongue out, thumb to the nose move. Poor Kate was no match for a 4-year-old who is over it!
