Snoop Dogg Claims He’s Giving Up Smoking Weed But Some Fans Aren’t Convinced

Is it the end of an era? Rapper and longtime weed enthusiast Snoop Dogg made a social media post claiming that he’s giving up smoking. Of course, there are multiple ways to consume weed, so just because he’s allegedly giving up smoking doesn’t mean he’s giving it all up.

Snoop is likely more known for smoking weed than he is for rapping at this point, so no one knows what to make of such an announcement. The thing that has everyone talking is the fact that no one can tell if Snoop is being serious, or if his sudden announcement could be a sign of something new to come.

He took to social media to make the announcement.

"After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke," read the photo he shared on both Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). "Please respect my privacy at this time."

His wording here is definitely interesting.

He merely said he was giving up 'smoke,' not weed altogether.

"I’m giving up smoke," he captioned the post, leaving the public to decide if he’s being serious or if he’s just pivoting away from actually smoking. The fact that he hinted at a conversation with his family could add some seriousness to this, but again, it’s all speculation.

He has expressed the possibility of cutting back on his marijuana intake.

In March, he told the Daily Mail that he was trying to change certain elements of his lifestyle since becoming a grandfather.

"Being a grandfather has changed me in multiple ways," he said. "The main way is being concerned with how I live, how I move, the kind of people I’m associated with, because I want to see my grandkids grow old. The only way I can do that is to take precautionary steps as far as how I move, who I hang out with, where I go out, my intake … I just don’t want to do this to my body anymore. I want to survive."

Still, fans have a lot of feelings about this.

Fans still don’t know what to make of the announcement, and they’re letting their feelings out on social media.

"Today isn’t April Fools day Snoop," one user wrote on X.

"This is probably just gonna be some viral campaign where he launches his own line of vapes or edibles or something," another replied.

Are they right about that? Time will tell …

Many fans are not ready to believe Snoop's story

No one knows what to make of his announcement, and while some people are supportive of his choice, others are truly skeptical.

"Okay I never believed in the 'end of times' but I now do,” one person commented on his Instagram post.

Hopefully Snoop will reveal the truth soon.
