Things only seem to be getting more complicated for Jenelle Evans and her husband David Eason amid a concerning situation involving her 14-year-old son Jace. The teen ran away from home multiple times this year, which prompted Child Protective Services to investigate the couple. The ongoing investigation has also strained the already tense relationship between Jenelle and her mother, Barbara Evans, who handed custody over to Jenelle for the first time in March. Now, it seems that David has been charged, and Jenelle could be next.

David has been charged with child abuse.
According to TMZ, David has been charged with misdemeanor child abuse in a case that involves Jace. The case was opened up after the teen repeatedly ran away from home. As of now, the details of the case have not been released.
Jace allegedly accused David of abuse.
The CPS case was opened after Jace ran away from home for a third time in September. He alleged that he ended up in some sort of physical altercation with David, which was caught on video that both the police and CPS had and likely factored into their decision.
Jenelle didn't stay quiet about the court's decision.
Jenelle took to Instagram Stories to address the situation after the news about David's charges broke.
"You would think police wouldn't make a one-sided police investigation. They didn't conduct interviews. Didn't ask any information from the parents. This seems like a very [biased] situation like every time before," she wrote in the since-expired post, as reported by The Messenger. "I trusted that detective with all my heart. Forgot you can't trust cops. Silly me. I do not trust anyone around me. Going MIA for a while."

Jenelle says Jace's 'mental health issues' are to blame.
"My son has been having mental health issues for the past two to three years. He has been on and off medication that was not prescribed under my care," Jenelle told The Messenger. "They are thinking it's because of the effects of the medication, it's causing him to have behaviors he shouldn't have. He's had outbursts. He's in intensive therapy at the moment and getting the help he needs."
According to Jenelle, David hasn't been brought up in court.
"Everyone thinks it's investigating our other kids about child abuse and neglect [however] it's about our son. In the court they don't even bring up David's name. At all. It's only about me and my mom and Jace's mental health," she said.
But court documents obtained by The Sun tell a different story.
"The defendant unlawfully and willingly did, being the parent of Jace V Evans, who was a child, less than 16 years of age, inflict physical injury on that child," the documents stated. "The physical injury inflicted caused marks on their right arm and left and right side of the neck, and was inflicted by other than accidental means."
Jenelle claims Barbara couldn't handle Jace either.
During the investigation, and after spending some time at a facility, Jace is currently living with his grandmother again. Barbara gave Jenelle custody of Jace in March of this year, and Jenelle claims it’s because of Jace’s behavior.
"My mom would call David and say 'Can you come help me, he just ran out of the car,'" she said.
Reportedly, there is currently a warrant out for David's arrest.
