Remember all that talk about 12/12/12 and the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar? Welllll, funny thing … I guess we had the date wrong? Or something? Because the REAL end of the world is actually this Friday, 12/21/12. And now that you know, you have exactly two days to plan your End of the World Party.
Wink, wink and all that.
Okay, obviously I don't believe in all that nonsense, but it does sound like a fun theme for a party. Don't you think? Here's a few ideas to get you started.

Decorations: Okay, I looked around to see how people are visualizing this theme and found PartyCheap.com's suggestions — kind of a Mayan/tropical thing going on. So pull out any tropical-themed stuff you can find at home or at the party supply store. Is it all from Hawaii? Oh well, Hawaii, Central America, whatever, close enough. Or — I like the sparkly party hats pictured here.
Food: I think at an End of the World party, you should eat like it's really your last day on Earth. What would you want your last meal to be? Buffalo wings and chocolate cupcakes? Ice cream scoops full of caviar? Kale salad with a side of wheat grass juice? Hey, I'm not here to judge. I'm just saying, think decadent.
Games: Limbo, obviously, because that's where many of us are probably headed. Also, Would You Rather — as in, would you rather spend eternity in a pit of fire or doing long division? Would you rather go to hell with all your fun friends or to heaven with the dullest people you know?
Music: This part is already done for you if you use Spotify. Because! Here's an End of the World playlist. And here's an End of the World playlist. And here's an End of the World playlist. Basically it comes down to finding a playlist created by someone with similar tastes in music. Yay, someone already planned this part for you. Now dance away, dance away, dance away all!
