‘Unicorn Farts’ Beer — Brewed with Real Glitter & Fruity Pebbles — Is a Major Need

Anyone who's paid any attention to the Internet in the past few years knows all too well that unicorns are having a moment. Unicorn cakes, unicorn hair, unicorn Christmas trees, and even unicorn Halloween costumes seem to be everywhere these days. But if you had told me that I would get to combine my love of unicorns, glitter, and alcohol all into one delicious drink, I would have called you crazy. I now stand corrected. Du Claw Brewing Company recently announced that its Sour Me Unicorn Farts Beer is coming back this summer — and all I have to say is SIGN ME UP.

The brewery made the announcement on Instagram over the weekend, where it racked up more than 1,000 likes.

And if the photo looks a little familiar, that's because the brewery styled the campaign after another recent post from singer-songwriter Lizzo.

"100 percent that glitter beer," DuClaw's Instagram caption read, with a nod to the infamous opening lyric from Lizzo's hit song, "Truth Hurts."

According to the post, it'll arrive in June 2020.

Lizzo appreciation aside, there are other reasons why you should preorder the brew ASAP. (Namely: glitter.)

It's brewed with edible glitter and Fruity Pebbles (yep, you read that right) and reportedly tastes like "slightly tart sour, a bouquet of fruits and a hint of biscuit." The ale will also be medium-bodied and 5.5 percent ABV (if you're into that sort of thing).

Okay, yum.

As if that wasn't enough, it's made in collaboration with the Baltimore doughnut shop Diablo Doughnuts, which prides itself on its array of quirky flavors.

“We were inspired by the way [Diablo founder] Ros continuously pushes the envelope with flavors and recipes,” DuClaw founder and president Dave Benfield said in a statement in March. “The process and pace with which they operate with is strangely similar to our approach to innovation — constant creativity, ideation and testing.”

Although Unicorn Farts will be in limited release, preorders for distributors are set to go live as early as December.

And if all goes according to plan, the Instagram-worthy brew will be here just in time for Hot Girl Summer 2020. (In the meantime, though, fans can go to their local liquor stores and talk to them about stocking up on the sparkly brew.)
