While visiting family in Florida this week, I happened upon a guy outside the supermarket selling fresh fish from a truck. I asked him the best way to cook shrimp, figuring that, of all people, he would know the best way. And I was right: He gave me this ridiculously simply recipe for boiled shrimp, and it was fantastic!.

Easy Boiled Shrimp

1 lb raw shrimp, fresh or frozen

1/2 onion

Seasoning (he recommended using half a beer for "seasoning" but I didn't have that so I used 2 tablespoons Old Bay, 1 teaspoon cayenne, and 2 teaspoons garlic salt)

Bring large pot of water to boil. Add onion and seasoning to boiling water. Add shrimp. Bring back to boil and wait 30 more seconds (about 10 minutes total). Shrimp should be pink. Strain shrimp. Enjoy!
