If you're a Kylie Cosmetics customer — or even just follow the brand on Instagram — then you'll recognize these lips instantly. They're the ones in all of the brand's swatch videos and the pair you see when you buy lipstick on its website.
Those lips belong to Ashley Rosales, a lifestyle and beauty blogger from El Paso, Texas.
Despite her obvious talent for makeup, Rosales didn't initially pick up on blogging. After graduating high school, she served as a mechanic in the US Army.
Her father, a Marine Corps veteran, inspired her to join the military. She was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas and served for two and a half years.
“I was getting dirty and turning wrenches, which was really different for me,” she told People Magazine. “People were, like, ‘Really? You’re so girlie!’ But it was rewarding.”
Her husband, pictured above, is still serving in the US Army.
But after severely injuring her foot during training, Rosales was medically discharged. That's when she started pursuing beauty as a full-time career.
And it obviously worked. Along with Kylie Cosmetics, Rosales has landed work promoting Lime Crime, Beauty Bakerie, Smolder Cosmetics, and more.
All this work has scored her more than half a million Instagram followers on her lip swatching account.
Damn. Talk about a badass alert.
I will never see Kylie's lip kits the same way ever again.
