Bride-to-Be Asks Reddit If She Should Do It In Her Dress on Her Wedding Night

While the wedding night doesn’t have quite the importance it used to, it still is a pretty big deal. Meaning that even if you didn’t wait until your wedding to do the beast with two backs, you definitely want that night to have a little bit of magic. Of course, there’s the deed itself, but then there’s another pressing question — what’s a bride to wear?

The question was so pressing on one poor future bride’s mind that she wrote into Reddit looking for second opinions.

Writing in the r/wedding forum, the original poster acknowledged that this might be a “taboo” topic, but she really had to know.

“What do you guys think about doing the deed the night of the wedding in your wedding dress?” she asked.

The bride-to-be was of two minds about it.

On the one hand, it might be considered “fun and sexy.”

“However, when I think of all the layers and the shape wear and all of that involved, is it better to just get some pretty lingerie for the night of instead???” she asked.

This being the internet and all, people had many different opinions on the matter.

Some people were against doing it in your wedding dress.

"My dress was too poofy for all that nonsense," one person commented. "Dear Husband took my dress off, I put some lingerie on, we had sex while the bath was running and then got in the bath after I spent literally 20 minutes taking all the pins out of my hair. That bath was the best bit. No thanks to sex in the dress."

"We agreed before not to even try … so we spent the last half hour of consciousness eating taco bowls (from our late night taco truck delivery) and talking about the day and falling asleep utterly happy," another commenter explained. "So don’t put the extra pressure on yourself, if it happens … well, you’ll find a way through the tulle!"

"Ha! Lovely idea, but I couldn’t wait to get the thing off!" another commenter wrote. "We were so tired, I took my dress off, brushed my teeth, he helped me take out about 300 hair pins and we cuddled. Naked. No lovely underwear! Was bliss! We sat and read the cards too, which is actually one of my best memories of the day – sitting naked on the bed in our hotel reading the gorgeous messages in cards from our wonderful friends!"

While other people thought she should go for it in her wedding day finest.

"Contrary to what most people are saying here, I did do the deed in my dress on our wedding night," one person admitted. "And it was as hot and sexy as I’m sure you imagine it could be for you. I say if you are both in the mood for it on the night, definitely go for it!!"

"All I wore was sexy undies because my dress had cups sewn in, so no bra," another commenter chimed in. "He took the dress off me, but we didn't do it IN the dress haha. Everyone's saying they were so tired but I just cannot relate. Like, yes, it was a long day but I wasn't EXHAUSTED."

The OP can certainly plan for any wedding night she dreams of, but we think one commenter's sentiment really said it best: "You'll be exhausted and tired. Sex was the last thing on our mind when we were finally in bed."
