Part your hair in half down the center, then in half again. Staring at the top, twist each section down towards the nape of the neck, tucking the hair in as you go. When you reach the end, coil up the twists and pin. Voila!

Curls + a wrap = perfection.

(Sharon's wrap is from Fanm Djamn, btw).

Add chains to your bun for a touch of unexpected edge.

A pinned-back low ponytail is made insanely elegant with pearls.

Instead of holding your pony back with a tie, fasten sections at the nape of your neck with no-slip bobby pins instead. Stylist Allen Thomas Wood handmade these gorgeous mermaid pins by hot gluing craft pearls onto the ends of hairpins. YES.

A simple flower tucked behind one ear is never not perfect.

Use a silk flower if the weather is crazy — it'll last all day without wilting.

(And yes, flowers work in short hair, too.)

Just make sure you pin them in securely!

Flip yr part. Seriously.

I know it sounds insanely simple — part your hair on the opposite side! — but OMG, it can have the most incredible effect. It sits differently, you can style it differently, and it gives you an entirely new perspective on your head.

Why braid when you can bubble your ponytail?

Pull loosely-waved hair into a low pony. Using clear plastic hairties down the length of your hair, fasten it into small sections, gently "puffing" each out with your fingers as you go.

Space buns are here to stay, so lean on into this throwback trend.

Part your hair down the center (or over to one side, if you're feeling rebellious), and pull your hair into two high ponies. Twist and wrap your ponytail, pinning the lil buns down as you go.

Glitter makes any short cut fancier!

Yes. Yes. Yes.

A super-loose half-bun is the only way you need to wear your hair for brunch.

This works for nearly any length of hair — keep the twist loose as you pin your top section up, up, and away.

Headbands are BACK — sort of.

Blair Waldorf is out, and Julius Caesar is in. Headbands worn open in the front and encircling the back of your head are absolutely perfect.

A giant topknot is ALWAYS a good idea.

Literally.

Always.

Embellish the hell out of your ponytail, because basic hair is boring.

Wrap a section of hair around the base of your ponytail, then pop some embellished bobby pins through — pearls are a huge trend this summer, but don't limit yourself. Try silk flowers, sequins, or even plastic dinosaurs!

Don't hide your bobby pins — show 'em off!

Space buns too tricky? Half-loops are for you!

If your hair is shorter, try a single loop instead of two.

A coil crown is seriously the cutest.

Instead of a plait, coil sections of your hair around your fingers into loops and loosely pin across the crown.

And if all else fails? Googly eyes.
