For more than a decade, fans have been begging Jaclyn Hill to launch a makeup brand. While collections by other beauty YouTubers, both successful and unsuccessful, have come and gone, the anticipation of something new from the OG beauty vlogger has been unrelenting.
Well, finally, fans don't have to beg anymore, because Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics finally has a release date, and it's literally around the corner. However, she still has us playing the guessing game, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Here's a hint: It's something shimmery.
The time is here, ladies and gentlemen.
Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics is coming, and it's sooner than any of us thought. After 11 long years of a successful and relatively unproblematic career, Hill's recent triumphs are well deserved, according to fans.
"I’m so excited! I’ve been following Jaclyn since 2014, and I’ve been through all the ups and downs, and it’s been so amazing to watch her come into her own! I cannot wait to support her in her own makeup journey now! She’s the reason I love makeup and can blend eye shadow, and I’ll always be so grateful for everything she’s taught me!" an adoring fan swooned on the brand's new Instagram page.
And while we don't know much about the upcoming launches, there is one thing we know.
The brand is about everything bling. Though the new Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics page doesn't reveal any clear products, beauty obsessives are already using clues to make some pretty consistent guesses.
"IT'S A HIGHLIGHTER! Isn’t it?" a curious fan asked.
For the past two days, Jaclyn has continued to tease us with an array of blinged-out photos.
The pics include what appears to be black shimmery packaging on a stick-like figure with a jeweled top, adding ammunition to rumblings that a possible highlighter stick may be the first launch for Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics.
So what's next?
With an official launch date of May 30, we're expecting a massive product reveal in the next few days. And the release is feeling long overdue.
"I have been following you from what like 10 years? I dont even remember… n till date I cannot find better MUA then you… i am so proud of you for starting your own makeup line… feels like family… I hope i meet you one day and i hope you find all the happiness all through your life," said a well-wishing fan.
Hill is continuing to swing into success and into May 30.
We'll continue to stay glued to our social media feeds to see exactly what's coming next. But after what's seemed like weeks of endless beauty YouTuber drama, we'll take this sprinkle of positivity, even if it comes via elusive Instagram posts.
And it wouldn't be a Jaclyn Hill release without Twitter erupting, and it sure has.
It all started with Hill proclaiming that she is, in fact, that b****.
"Yes, my b**** ass is literally swinging on a diamond," she declared proudly, as fans and critics alike just couldn't get over the fact that she was swinging around on a literal oversize diamond swing. But after watching her recent room tour, we wouldn't expect anything less.
It's a great distraction.
While James Charles, Tati Westbrook, and Jeffree Star continue to stir the pot of beauty drama, Hill is rising above it, both literally and figuratively.
"Beauty community: drama drama drama @jaclynhill LOOK MA I’M SWINGIN’ ON A DIAMOND!!!!" a fan exclaimed.
Pockets are prepared, and spirits are eager.
"Do i just need to go ahead a deposit my paycheck to you??? So ready for this!!!!" asked someone ready to risk it all, including their adult expenses.
Hey, beauty will make you do that, right?
But, of course, some are critical.
"I’m very much an advocate for supporting local artists and what not, but in the influencer world who do collabs that end up being a fail, it’s not unusual to be skeptical and remain loyal to the big corporations," someone began.
"And like Kylie Cosmetics, whose product comes from the same factory and warehouse as Colourpop, I have a heavy feeling that Jaclyn Hill cosmetics is basically going to be Morphe 2.0 for double the cost," she continued, skeptical of what the price point could potentially be.
Does the abundance of diamonds mean a high price point for the brand?
"So, with all these diamonds and shit in the promo pics, does that mean Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics is gonna be hella 'spensive? Cuz I'm not here for that," said someone eager to buy, but not eager to spend a bunch of money.
For now we'll stay positive and understand that Hill knows her demographic and fans better than anyone. Luxury doesn't always have to come with a steep price tag.
