Velour Liquid Lipsticks — they're the first product Jeffree Star Cosmetics ever made, and many of them are still massive sellers for the brand. Needless to say, Jeffree Star himself takes a whole lot of pride in them.
That being said, his latest argument for them doesn't really hold up.
In a now-deleted tweet, Jeffree Star accused Kylie Cosmetics of using concealer packaging that's identical to his liquid lipstick containers.
"I gotta know ONE THING…" he wrote (and then deleted). "With all that fucking money she's made, why did @kyliecosmetics use the SAME PACKAGING as my liquid lipsticks that have been out since 2014??? Invest and make something different maybe?"
He made the same claim on Snapchat, where he berated Kylie Jenner for not doing "some custom shit."
"Girl, I'm not throwing shade, like, I'm not mad… but when you're that big and you've made that much fucking money, why couldn't you just use another bottle?" he said.
Yes, Jenner's and Star's concealer and lipstick compartments are practically identical — there's no denying that.
But, as many Twitter users pointed out, Jeffree Star Cosmetics and Kylie Cosmetics are not NEARLY the first or only brands to use that exact same tube with varied designs.
Black Moon Cosmetics, for example, has a similar liquid lipstick component.
As does Sugarpill Cosmetics.
Oh, and Dose of Colors.
Also, Wet n Wild, a brand about which Star has done nothing but rave.
…Just to name a few.
Therefore, Star can't really claim that Jenner copied his packaging specifically.
Let's not forget that Star's been sued for allegedly stealing packaging ideas TWICE this year alone.
There are plenty of other, worse issues with Jenner's concealer line, but its packaging?
Probably not.
