One person recently recounted a wedding they had attended where the groom’s mom decided to insert herself into the wedding with a truly wild outfit choice.

They decided to tell the story on the r/WeddingDrama Reddit forum, and drama somehow feels like an understatement. The person was attending their cousin’s wedding and it seemed to be going well. That is until the mother of the groom “made her entrance wearing a white, floor-length gown with a veil. Yes, a veil.”
Apparently, the woman’s entrance created a hush among the wedding guests. As the original poster shared, the dress wasn’t even off-white or beige. It was “wedding white” and had lace. “One kid whispered, ‘Did she forget whose wedding this is?’” the OP wrote.
Even the couple getting married was shocked by the sight.
According to the OP, the bride “looked shocked but kept her cool.” The groom however, “looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole.”
Someone asked the mother of the groom what the deal was with her outfit. She allegedly laughed off the question, saying “Oh don’t worry, mine has more sleeves we won’t get confused.” Sleeve length definitely was the least of her problems.
The mother of the groom kept inserting herself into the wedding.
“She spent the entire ceremony hovering dangerously close to the front, trying to adjust the bride’s train like she was part of the bridal team. At one point she whispered loudly, ‘This is just like my wedding but with fewer candles!’” OP wrote.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the groom’s mom apparently caught the bouquet, exclaiming, “Round two, coming up!” According to the OP, the bride hasn’t reached the stage of forgiveness just yet, and who could blame her?
