This makeup artist who was told to kill herself turned fat-shaming words into beauty

Nabela Noor dazzles us with her beautiful tutorials, her real-talk relationship advice, and her take-no-bullshit stance on body positivity.

Instead of allowing the hatred that goes hand-in-hand with being a woman (especially a plus-size woman) on the internet shake her self-esteem, Noor used the cruel words of her haters to create a flawless makeup look.

Noor posted her powerful, heartbreaking tutorial on Instagram.

"In 2017, I was called a pig, fat, ugly, a monster," she wrote. "I was told I should kill myself because of how I look. I received thousands of messages like this all year & there have been times where I let those words destroy me."

Instead of allowing the comments of haters to shatter her, she became "a fortress of self-love."

"But as my confidence strengthened, I became a fortress of self-love that could not be broken by the words of unhappy people," she continued. "I learned quickly that happy people don’t say hurtful things. And that happiness begins with self-love."

As Noor painted the hurtful words on her face, she crossed and blended them out and replaced them with loving terms.

Fat-shaming rhetoric turned into "I *heart* me" with two red "xo"s on her chin.

Noor reiterates the importance of self-love at any size, with or without makeup.

"The girl I see in the mirror is beautiful with and without makeup, whether I am a size 6 or a size 16," she wrote.

"No one can tell us who we are. We are glorious."

She then blended the self-love message into a flawless makeup look."We are beautiful," she continued. "We are worthy. This video is a small victory in my self-love revolution & I can’t wait to continue the fight in 2018. I am not the things they say I am. I will never be reduced to their words. I am brave, I am strong, I am who I’m meant to be."

"This is me."
