Makeup Artist Was Ashamed Of Acne Until She Incorporated It Into Her Beauty Look

Rocio Cervantes, a makeup artist with 141,000 followers on Instagram, has shared a beautiful acne-centered look.

Cervantes appears to be a part of a different kind of body-positive movement. While many have gone on to embrace their scars, size, disabilities, and other skin conditions like vitiligo, we rarely see people flaunt their acne as another feature rather than a flaw.

Check out Cervantes' star-studded look and important message below.

Cervantes is also a makeup artist, and on most days you'd be too distracted by her stunning eye shadow looks to ever notice any pimples she may have.

Cervantes even took a break from posting looks to deal with the social anxiety and depression caused by her acne. Who could blame her?

The makeup artist finally decided: Screw it! Instead of covering her acne up, she incorporated her spots into her look.

Cervantes hoped her new look would help others struggling with acne.

"It saddens me because yesterday I was wondering what it would be like if I didn’t have acne like what it would be if I had clear skin then it made me really ashamed of myself for thinking that because I am beautiful I just have to really tell myself that more often."

People were inspired AF by Cervantes. Stars for a star, TBH.

People who had acne especially appreciated Cervantes' embracing of her appearance.

"One of my signature looks is my inner corner star. I’ve been struggling so much with acne as of late, and thought why not just cover it with stars. I already had the concept in my head for a long time, so it was just a matter of executing it," Cervantes told Teen Vogue.

"I want acne to be normalized," she said. "I want people who struggle with any skin condition to know that it’s okay to have acne. They too are beautiful. I don’t want people to feel any less about themselves because of acne."
