The beauty industry can be an ugly place sometimes. And after a year of having one beauty scandal after another, Too Faced founder and chief creative officer Jerrod Blandino has found himself in the hot seat again.
The self-made cosmetics millionaire pissed off quite a few people after posting himself with a "Rich Lives Matter" cake to celebrate his husband's birthday. This is one we didn't expect.
I think it's safe to say that Too Faced cofounder Jerrod Blandino is rich.

Though we're not sure exactly how rich, after selling Too Faced to Estée Lauder for a whopping $1.45 billion in 2016 — all while maintaining his role as CCO of the company — we're fine assuming money isn't really an object in his life.

So alongside his husband Jeremy Johnson, Too Faced's other cofounder, Blandino is one half of an obscenely wealthy couple.

And before you ask where we're going with this, stay with us...

Earlier this week, Blandino posted an Instagram Story for his husband's birthday, in which a cake donning the phrase "Rich Lives Matter" can be seen sitting on the table.

Blandino, who has expressed his passion for diversity and inclusion in the past, shocked some with the extremely insensitive post.
Blandino quickly caught wind of the disappointment in the post that seemingly mocks the Black Lives Matter movement and issued an apology.

"I posted a pic of Jeremy and me at a surprise party a group of our friends had thrown for Jeremy's upcoming birthday," he began.

"There was a cake at the bottom of the photo that someone had brought to the party that had something insensitive and unacceptable written on it."

"I'm so sorry, and I take full responsibility for posting it. It's my responsibility to make sure everything I post reflects me, my life, my values, and my heart."

"Jeremy and I have built the company and our lives on the premise of lifting everyone up, loving and supporting each other to live their best lives and reach their greatest potentials."

Blandino's recent Instagram posts have drawn comments from upset fans still unsatisfied with the mogul's apology.

And as much as we also stan Too Faced's products, this one is inexcusable.

Because let's be real here: Black lives are under attack; rich lives aren't.

When it comes to inclusion, you don't have to have your cake and eat it, too.
