Despite over 50% of women reporting they've gotten a UTI (urinary tract infection) at some point in their lives according to the World Health Organization, the infection is still something many women keep secret. However, they really should be spoken about more: UTIs aren't only super common, they're truly painful and can really do a number on your health and your self-esteem. There's also no real way of effectively treating them outside of antibiotics, which you need a prescription from an ob-gyn to get. Sorry, but chugging cranberry juice isn't exactly a fool-proof cure.

Other women then began to share their experiences with UTIs, and how doctors sometimes aren't the most helpful when it comes to offering help.
Some shared the most eyeroll-worthy advice they've received from doctors.
Viagra is common knowledge, but cures for vaginitis? Nah, not important.

BRB, teaching my magic bladder to pee on command.

These conversations need to be had.
Hopefully these stories reminded those who suffer from chronic UTIs or other related infections or diseases that they are not alone.
