7 Women Tried One-Size-Fits-All Jeans And The Results Are Bananas

The mere mention of one-size-fits-all clothing makes my eyes roll at lightning speed.

Enter: Irish brand Tiffosi, which created one-size jeans for "everyone." The jeans that come in 16 different styles — including dark wash, light wash, and colors like purple and orange — promise to posses some kind stretchy of magic that suits a size 2 as well as a size 12.

We'll believe it when we see it…

Tiffosi's Double Up Navy jeans sell for $60 and allegedly fit size 6 to 14. The fabric is 69% cotton, 28% polyester, and 3% elastane.

We didn't have a great feeling about these jeans but we purchased them with haste after watching a BuzzFeed review that was actually pretty positive.

Looking at the jeans IRL, it's clear that these are one-size-fits-all for straight sizes.

As a size 18/20, I was happy to step aside and let my coworkers test these. Lest I manage to get in them and not be able to get out of them!

Angela was the first brave soul to try on the jeans.

"I was in shock because initially I did not see them fitting. Honestly, they slid on like a pair of leggings," said Angela.

Her biggest concern was how long they were on her.

Angela wears a size 00 and these jeans were no trouble at all.

"I felt comfortable for the most part, like I was ready for the gym," she shared.

But are they Instagram pose-worthy?

Yep.

Brittany, a size 2, was up next and she had... concerns.

"Maybe I should go pee and try to lose some water weight to make sure they fit," said Brittany.

"I only wear workout leggings, yoga pants, and sweatpants, so putting on any type of jean is a challenge," she started.

She quickly became a believer.

"The stretch factor made them easy to glide up my body," said Brittany. "To be fair, I’m a size two, so I’m calling myself out before you can."

When I handed Melissa the jeans, she thought she was being punked.

"The hardest part was trying to make them slide up on my thighs. It felt like trying to put on my little sister jeans," said Melissa.

Even though Melissa was able to put them on, she didn't feel comfortable enough to wear them all day long.

Cindy took one look and was like, "One-size-fits-all for toddlers?"

"I was shocked at how easily they fit over my calves," said Cindy. "But once the jeans got past my knees, it was game over."

"I thought it was a joke. I knew they weren’t going to fit from the moment I laid eyes on the jeans, and I was right. That’s going to be a no from me," she concluded.

Mary usually wears size 8 jeans. She side-eyed these pants hard.

"I internally laughed, and then I externally laughed. I really, really, REALLY doubted the pants were going to fit," said Mary.

To her surprise, the jeans were bootylicious AF.

"Going up the calf, it was OK, and then it got to my thighs and I had to tug as hard as I’ve ever had to before. And THEN I had to hold my breath to zip up and button them. It was a lot of work. I felt like I was putting on a corset for my legs or something, but they felt buttery soft," said Mary.

I challenged her to move in them and shit got real.

"They were VERY tight. I basically felt like I was in middle school again, because I wore my jeans pretty tight back then. I had a muffin top situation going on when I wore the pants, so I’d have to wear a long shirt with them," said Mary.

Her face says it all.

It was finally Nicola's turn and she was not pleased.

"These? Me? That’s a funny joke," said Nicola.

"I didn’t even zip them up and I couldn’t breathe."

"Emotionally, I was instantly transported back to being an upset teenager in the dressing room of a store that didn’t carry my size," said Nicola.

Nicola was not a fan of these jeans at all.

"The legs fit like Hot Topic super skinnies I might’ve worn in the 8th grade, but the hips cut into me like a fucking birthday cake. There was literally zero chance they’d even zip, let alone button," said Nicola.

Yuliana saw these jeans and was ready to walk away.

"Those will fit ONE of my thighs, have you seen my thighs?"

But she stood corrected!

The jeans actually fit her well and were comfortable. "The wide waistband didn't create rolls and rolls of chichos. They also weren’t that long on me, so I appreciated that," said Yuliana who's 5'0".

What did we learn today?

  • We learned that 3% elastane goes a looooong way.
  • We learned that Nicola and Cindy are hella strong for pulling these toddler pants all the way up.
  • And finally, we learned that traveling pants aren't all they're cracked up to be.

The world probably doesn't need one-size-fits-all jeans.
