Do you believe in fate? For many couples, meeting and falling in love feels like it was meant to be. Sometimes, these folks discover their paths crossed long before they knew each other existed — they just didn’t realize it at the time. This is exactly what happened to married YouTube creators Jenn Chia and Jon Liddell.
Except, Chia’s recent social media post about her and her husband's chance meeting two years before they officially met has photographic evidence.

Chia posted about her revelation in December.
Chia took to Instagram on December 26, 2023, to share her wild discovery.
“I’m still shaking looking at this,” she declared alongside a video featuring three photos. The first was a selfie of Chia from October 2012, followed by a picture from December 2014, when she and her husband were dating, and a third from 2023 when they married.
The post has since gone viral — and it isn't hard to see why.
There, in Chia's selfie, Liddell can be seen standing in the background, seemingly waiting in line at a box office.
“We were at the same place but didn’t know each other existed,” Chia explained in text written on the video. “We met at the right time."
Her Instagram post has attracted more than 452,000 likes thus far.
Chia explained their relationship wouldn't have survived if they had met earlier.
“If it was before, I don’t think the relationship would have lasted,” Chia shared in the caption of her post. “I was a narcissistic monster, unaware and naive. Took me a year of traveling and being single to reflect and realize my own mistakes. That’s when we met.”

Meanwhile, yet another commenter shared a similar story, writing, "That’s crazy isn’t it! I have a photo of Nick that I took randomly at a friend’s wedding before meeting him in person a few years later! Chillsss."
Chia's husband also shared his (adorable) two cents.
He was apparently relieved their relationship began years later.
"So glad you didn’t meet me in the first picture," he chimed in with his response. "We were meant to go on our own journey’s. We met a few years later at the perfect time ."
