Three adults have been charged with child endangerment after 13 kids were removed from an Ohio home in “deplorable” conditions. On August 10, 2025, Toledo Police Department officers responded to a report of an animal complaint at a house on Raymer Boulevard. Officers arrived a little after 6:30 p.m.
There, they found 13 children under age 14, in “deplorable conditions that put their health and safety at risk,” the Toledo Blade reported. The kids also “appeared very filthy, as if they had not bathed in days.”
Reportedly, the children had multiple bug bites on their bodies in addition to officers finding several insect infestations, no working toilet or shower, human feces on the floor, and no food stored in the kitchen, WTVG reported. Animals were found to have urinated and defecated on the floor.
In bodycam footage released by WTOL from the police department, an officer responding at the home wondered aloud, “What is that stench?” before entering. She ultimately approached a fellow officer, telling him, “I need your opinion. I need you to go inside and just look around, and tell me what you’re thinking about this entire setup in here.”
Later in the clip, a female officer asked Angel Oliveri III, 25, one of the adults living in the home, “Do you think these living conditions are acceptable for children?’ to which he replied, “No, I don’t.”
The officer continued, “It’s one thing if adults want to live in filth, in their own filth, and not take care of themselves. You’re adults, if you want to live that way. These kids didn’t sign up for that.”
Ultimately, Oliveri was arrested and charged with eight counts of endangering children, the Blade reported. Two other adults who live at the Toledo home — Oliveri’s fiancée, Cassandra A. Lambert, 27, and Lambert’s sister, Angel Lambert, 32, per People — were also arrested and charged with five counts of endangering children. All three suspects have pleaded not guilty and were released on their own recognizance.
Lucas County Children Services removed the 13 kids from the home; they are reportedly staying with a family member, WTVG reported. Oliveri and the Lambert sisters were ordered not to contact the children.
