4-Month-Old Baby Girl Dies After Spending the Day Boating in 120-Degree Arizona Heat

An Arizona family experienced the unthinkable over the Fourth of July holiday weekend when their 4-month-old baby girl died. Tanna Rae Wroblewski reportedly lost consciousness around 5 p.m. on July 5 after spending time with family on Lake Havasu. The infant was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but medical personnel could not revive her.

According to AccuWeather, temperatures in the area hit a record high on July 5, topping out at 120 degrees. Tanna's body was taken for an autopsy by the medical examiner, but the results have not been released, per People. Many believe the heat contributed to Tanna's untimely death.

The family had been boating the day Tanna died.

The Wroblewski family had a fun day on the lake during the extreme heat wave, according to a GoFundMe account. They apparently noticed Tanna had lost consciousness and began CPR around 5 p.m.

"Lake Havasu City Fire Department quickly arrived to take over life-saving procedures. Tanna was rushed to Havasu Regional Medical Center where they continued to work on her to get a pulse," the GoFundMe page reads. "She was then airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital where they did everything in their power to revive her, but God had other plans, and took Tanna to heaven that night."

Tanna's mother paid tribute to her baby girl on social media.

Alyssa Wroblewski wrote on Facebook about the heartache of losing Tanna. She shared the last photos she'd taken of her baby and some of the struggles she's currently facing.

"Explaining your loss to your sister has been tough. We don't understand why you had to leave, how could she? She's left out toys for you and made sure your favorites were all in the bassinet before bed the last couple nights," the grieving mom wrote. "We are so heartbroken without you baby girl there are just no words. We love you and would give anything to have you here with us We love you forever Tanny."

Some have criticized the family.

Keyboard warriors flocked to the mother's Facebook page, and some left critical comments about the family.

"It's a absolute shame that your partying days never stopped after either child was born," one person wrote. "Concerts, boating at the sandbar, Seltzers in Koozies. CPS needs to come get the other child until you both learn Responsibility! Grow Up!!!"

This person agreed, commenting, "She didn't leave you, you did this to her! Not sure who is worse, leaving her in a car alone or you all being with her and around her cooking from the inside out?????? Truly hope you return every dime of your go fund account so you don't use it for a lawyer when you're getting charged for murder!!!!"

One person asked others to give the family grace. "People need to back off. I'm sure they took the right precautions to keep the baby cool, but sometimes, bad things still happen. We all know that. This family is suffering enough right now, why pile on the hateful comments," the person wrote. "We need to show them grace and love. Not sit there and judge. As parents, I would venture to say that a good percentage of us, have had close calls with our kids, or maybe even worse.

"There but for the grace of God go I. Back off," the person continued. "Try sending positive thoughts and prayers instead of hate. It's not your place. You weren't there, you didn't see what happened, you don't know all the circumstances. Chill out!"

The GoFundMe page quickly surpassed its original goal.

The fundraiser hoped to bring in donations of $25,000 but has raised nearly $50,000 thus far. Many donors shared kind words.

One wrote, "You are all in our prayers during this time! We are so sorry for your loss. Sending all our love."

"I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending you so much love and praying for comfort in this difficult time. Rest in peace beautiful baby girl," another person shared.
