6-Year-Old Tells Police Wisconsin Mom Gave Dead Baby Fireball Whisky as ‘Medicine’ To Help It Sleep

A frantic 911 call prompted police and emergency responders to rush to a Wisconsin home on February 22, 2026. When they arrived, they saw 20-year-old Kevin McCall and 23-year-old Christina Davis standing on the porch of their apartment with a lifeless baby in their arms. Emergency responders rushed the infant to a hospital, but as staff tried to revive the infant, it was clear there was no hope. A later interview with Davis’ 6-year-old child revealed an alleged pattern of behavior that likely led to the baby’s death.

The parents reportedly left the infant in a crib for several hours.

According to court documents obtained by Law & Crime, Davis said she and McCall told police they woke around 9:30 a.m. on February 22. She checked on her children, a 6-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and a 1-year-old baby. Both children slept as Davis and McCall left to get food. After returning to the apartment, Davis left for work. When she returned several hours later, she made a sad discovery.

Davis’ 6-year-old daughter appeared to be in trouble.

Davis told police she saw her daughter standing in the corner as a punishment for “stealing” the remote. McCall allegedly admitted that he “whooped” the child first. Davis went in to check on the baby and found the infant “stiff” with eyes rolled back, according to court documents, Law & Crime reported.

The couple called 911 for help. When police arrived, the mother allegedly admitted she did not feed the infant or change a diaper that day. McCall admitted he never checked on the baby, who was “covered in urine and feces.” The daughter’s story changed everything.

The child alleged she was often left in charge of the baby.

The child told police that Davis and McCall would leave her alone with the baby often. She also claimed the mother gave the baby medicine to help the infant “pass out,” per Law & Crime. The child reportedly said, “I don’t think it is medicine.” Police found an empty Fireball whiskey bottle and began asking questions.

According to police, Davis said she’d left the children alone “no more than 20 times” even though she knew it was wrong. McCall claimed they left the children “at least 25 times in the past six to seven months.” The mother apparently relied on her 6-year-old to help her around the house and to care for the infant because McCall “does not provide any assistance.”

The infant’s cause of death remains unclear.

Though the girl said her mother gave the baby alcohol, Davis denied the allegation. She claimed she only treated the child with medicine. According to the medical examiner’s report, there was no clear “trauma, illness, or infection” leading to the infant’s death, per Law & Crime.

McCall’s attorney shared a statement with People claiming innocence. “At this time, evidence has not been presented to a trier of fact; therefore, the defendant is presumed innocent,” the attorney stated. “That presumption remains unless a trier of facts finds otherwise, beyond a reasonable doubt. Therefore, I encourage all concerned to wait until the evidence is presented before passing judgment.”

Both parents face charges of chronic child neglect. Even if they didn’t give the infant Fireball, something horrible happened in that home, and someone needs to be held accountable for the baby’s death.
